I'm thinking it would also help that I would have easily attained Platinum through the Plt Challenge (had I known that it existed!). Maybe they can look through my record and see that.

Well, I just called, and they said not to worry. If I'm within 1,000mi, they will automatically bump me up. I just have to wait for the system to do this (sometime in 3rd week of January). So she said I can save my "exception" until I really need it.
