I'd say that AA focuses on all elite members, although not to the same degree, of course. In the case of irrops, or meet-and-greet, it would be advantageous to be CK in this case. In all other situations, though, it would seem to be a minimal benefit, from what I gather here on FT.
Cheers,
Many airlines now has their own unpublished elite tiers - AA's CK, UA's GS, CX's DM+, etc. There should be additional unpublished benefits. I heard of CX's DM+ getting spousal DM. I guess as they spend over US$200K a year on CX just on their own flights, CX will do almost anything for them.

I'm sure there are. We know, though, that upgrade priority, for example, is not one of the benefits for CK. This is still based on status and request/check-in time. Barring irrops, I can't think of too many other things of value beyond this at the airport.

Cheers.
An EXP agent told me last week that they only unblock certain coach seats that are under airport control, like row 17 on a 767 for CK, but not for EXP.
Minimal, but an unpublished benefit

Hotels do this too... I did not even know that Marriott Platinum Premier Elite existed until it showed up on my online profile (not that Marriott gets all that much money from me - a lot of my stays are when I am at a residence inn for months at a time without checking out - on a deeply discounted rate). A front desk manager recently told me that there are only 2700 plat premiers in the world.

Thanks a lot! I heard that the other day at PDX when boarding UA1118 but I did not know what it was. The gate agent invited GS first and then 1st class cabin!

I for one do find this topic interesting. I know some people don't. That's cool.... Go read another thread....
I've noticed that flying DFW - AUS or AUS - DFW, I've seen more Exec Plats, and ones with the 1 million or more on the bag tag.
Other than that, I don't see much Exec Plats. Even the DFW - LAX, DFW - SNA, I don't see much.
I did for the first time receive a call from the American Executive offices around July when I re-qualified on segments as Exec Plat this year. It showed up as a 817 area code number. I asked her where she was, LOL, not previously received a call from American with 817 area code. Just a very kind call thanking me for using American Airlines for my business travel. Wanted to know what they could do better, etc. She was very nice, and told me that my suggestions would be given to each department head for further review.

Anyone else receive such a call this year?
Nope, but i would not expect it since i am only a plat by challenge this yr (will finish out around 45 sets). I do, however, live in the 817. It is mostly in & around Fort Worth / Tarrant County, TX.
