I think you need to write a request to AA, G. Arprey. They are the only ones with the accurate info.
I forgot to add, include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

There are 40,367 EXP; 103,852 PLT; and 243,840 GLD as of yesterday. As of next Monday you can add 534, 1593, and 2547 to the above respectively. On any given JFK-SFO flight, there are exactly 15.34 EXP passengers. I can sell you more fully accurate, internal, proprietary marketing information from any airline if you like.

To the OP: This is how we welcome newbies to the forum, so don't take it personally.

The real answer is that nobody here knows. It's proprietary information and guarded closely by AA.

I forgot to advise you altaskier, that I retired again recently and will revert back to permanent PLT at the end of this year, so add one PLT & deduct one EXP when you totalize next month!

That means one out of 15-20 passengers on a JFK-SFO flight is an EXP! That ratio does not even include their traveling companions! That is probably why there is a CK level.

How does that help in this scenario?

Cheers.

AA can focus on 1%, instead of 10%, of the passengers on these flights.

Welcome to Flyertalk.

I can answer your first question. There are more than 56 million total AAdvantage members, as of November 16, 2007, according to AA:

Those who could accurately answer your second question don't post here.

The only thing that AA publishes officially on this topic is as follows:

The AAdvantage Executive Platinum, Platinum and Gold programmes are exclusive AAdvantage memberships designed to reward our most loyal customers. Platinum members are the top 1 percent of our most frequent fliers. Gold members are the top 2-3 percent.

I'd say that AA focuses on all elite members, although not to the same degree, of course. In the case of irrops, or meet-and-greet, it would be advantageous to be CK in this case. In all other situations, though, it would seem to be a minimal benefit, from what I gather here on FT.

Cheers,

Whatever "our most frequent fliers" may mean. AAdvantage members? If so, about 500k PLT and 1-1.5 mm GLD, which seems rather high.

The page mentions 1 and 2 million milers as staying at GLD and PLT. I don't recall seeing that on an AA website before.
