Need ~15,000 AA EQM for EXP. Ideas, please?

Another newbie here - apologies if this is somewhere in this 86 page thread! I tried to search for it!

Anyway, I think I'll need about 15K miles to qualify for Exec Platinum in 2007 (miles will be easier than points or segments based on projected travel between now and Dec).

So I can find trips for around $800 yielding the miles (SAN or SEA to MAD via MIA) but need the experts help on getting anywhere close to 3cents/mile!

Ideas? Home is SAN, but fly to SEA often, so $0 repositioning.

<bumped> and retitled right out of the Platinum Challenge thread (to here after a brief pause for posting,) where this post wasn't appropriate nor would get much air. Thank you, all.

"Help, I need xxx Miles" and "by xxx" (consolidated)

This covers miles for status and just keeping miles from expiring.

Cheers.

Dublin is a great destination for your goal.

You might have to route creatively (see the MR forum as others have suggested) to get 15k in one trip, but it could happen...

I have a LAX-BOS-ORD-DUB-ORD-MIA-LAX set for later this year. Its a W fare so full points. $545 all-in so about 3.8 cpm. I need points so it was the best deal I could find for EQP.

3 cents per -qualifying- mile is rather ambitious, although it can be done. 5 cents per EQM is good. But even if you had to pay 10 cents per EQM, in this case it's still easily worth it ($1500) to get EXP instead of PLT.

Or, try 3 SEA-DFW-JAX-DFW-SEA at $200 each. 15468 EQM for $598.80 or 3.87 cpm.

Thanks for moving the post, the directions to other threads :-) and the suggestions here. I'll find my way around efficiently fairly soon. There is plenty to absorb.... I may try a MR to BUD which sounds like more fun than three trips to JAX! I used to live there! But I appreciate all the help.

Cheapest and fastest way to renew expiring miles?

A friend has miles on AA expiring in two weeks. I searched the forum and learned I can buy stuff through their partners, but I doubt they will post the miles in time. What other options do we have? Can I transfer miles to my friend?

I need 72,000 AA Miles by tomorrow... HELP!

I need 71,500 miles in my AA account by tomorrow. I don't want to get into all the details, but because of timing issues, my availibility, an upcoming flurry of trips, etc, I need to get them in there by tomorrow to move o 2MIL Lifetime Plat in time to reliably work for me.

I'm aware that trying to obtain miles in a rush isn't be most efficient way to do it (I know of, and use, the cheap ways of accumulation over time), so I am not looking for replies such as "just be patient and do this instead - you are a fool for spending so much).

All I'm looking for is some help - and I know you guys are geniuses with this - in determining by lowest-cost option. Here is what I have to work with:

Need:

71,500 AA miles to post (at least with a very good chance of doing so) by tomorrow

Have:

26,600 SPG points (transfers usually post in one day for me)
Tons of US, DL, UA, NW miles (and I know Points.com is not the way to go)
73,000 Marriott Rewards Points

Assume:

I value all my airline miles and my MRP equally at 1.8CPM (based upon past use patterns, etc.) I know that SPG points are essentially 1.25 miles when converted, so I value them accordingly.

Wondering:

Including all options and combinations of buying miles (I know I can get 40K miles from AA directly for $1,000) and transfers (my 26K SPG points for 31K AA miles, for example), what is my best method? Would buying some MAR or SPG points to top off and do a transfer plus an AA direct buy be best? If so, what precise combo? Are there any currently available promo codes or other methods to buy SPG or AA points at a discount or better ratio?

Thanks... need your help very soon... will move on this within a couple hours!

Friends and relations can 'gift' you with AA miles in quantities of no more than 15,000. Got friends and relavtives?

You can buy miles for yourself.

The combination of these 2 should do it for you.

Posts as fast as any other option.

Isn't cheap but that isn't what you are worried about.

How's that for a 3 minute response?
