I am on one MR, with spotty Internet access, but I'll try to follow the discussion best I can. I'll need approx 14K BIS miles before, well, 12/15. Considering usual Asian suspects: DEL, SIN, HAN etc. However, less obvious suggestions and creative routings would be appreciated.

Were you able to combine HAN and SIN in one low fare? How? TIA.

I flew HAN-SIN on a LCC. My AA itinerary was an open jaw. I have friends in both places, and the open jaw was actually significantly cheaper than a round trip to either on the dates i needed.

Cheapest/Quickest way to earn 6.000 miles for an European AAdvantage member

Hey everyone,
i'm trying to book 2 award tickets to SFO for next april, but i'm 5.400 miles short. What is the cheapest and quickest way for a AAdvantage member in Europe to earn those 5.400 miles? I'm based in The Netherlands, so i can't get a AAdvantage credit card.

The easiest ,and probably cheapest, way would be to just buy the 6000 miles for USD191.25 . Should credit within a few days to the account

Hi
I'm 17k short of platinum for the year. I'm signed up for the NYDBL and DBLEQM and I'm gold now.
I may be able to get on my MIA-LAX-MEL before the end of the year but that's not a sure thing and I know the double stuff is only for AA metal.
Does anyone have any wonderful MR ideas for me? I would prefer to leave from either FLL or PBI.

Thanks

You probably have, but just checking...did you already have a chance to look through MR Discussion and MR Deals? I think you may have better luck over there. Would also be helpful to hear what options/cpeqm you've already found and considered (or not discounted)...

nope, didn't check there. To be honest I assumed (doing a lot of that lately which is dumb) that since my post was added here that's where I was meant to look.

The advice on such topics, though, is generally to be found there- that's the hole purpose of those fora. Ideas for MRs are, undoubtedly, already there, so just looking at what's already been posted should provide a lot of useful information- don't even have to start a new thread to ask

Cheers.

MR forum has a lot of good advice, though not lately. I'm looking for a few MRs to make EXP this year and the AA pickings on the MR forum have been pretty slim compared to a ton of offerings from UA/CO.

If it helps, right now it looks like I might just make two trips ORD-FRA, same day turn around or 1 night stay. It's about $577 AI, so if I'm doing my math right (which I might not be), it's about .03/mile. If you're registered for DBEQM, one trip should get you over the 17K you need. I'll be taking two trips unless I can find anything better.

How about asking for help on Mileage Run Discussion? There's lots of folks (me included) just waiting to tell someone where to go ...

Took Benzguy80's advice and ran over to the MR forum and discovered a fare sale from SEA to BKK. I looked into doing it from ORD, and got the following:

Nov 27-Dec 1 for $840 AI.

ORD-LAX-NRT all on AA metal = 3480 + 10880 = 14360

NRT - BKK on JL G fare @ 50% = 1440

BKK - NRT on JL/AA codeshare for 100% but no DBLEQM = 2880

NRT - ORD on AA metal = 12520

Which nets me 31,200 EQM. Which, combined with myother flights and previous flying, gets me EXP. Is my math correct here? Just want to make sure I'm not making any errors, I feel pretty confident I understand AAdvantage rules......

Did you ever get this answered EXP4ME? I'm looking at almost the exact same flights and was having some concerns that I calculated the mileage correctly since this is my first time taking codeshare and non-codeshare partner flights on AA.

I waited a few days but no one commented, so I just booked and prayed. We will see...

I'm curious- how did you find such a great AI fare? Is it via aa.com or another tool?
