You have to take about 5 minutes to purchase a USO package for $25 via AA.com. You get 125 AA miles posted to the account you indicate. Easy and beneficial. A soldier, sailor or air person will be grateful.

However, I don't think the kids can have their own credit cards. You will need to apply and then have cards made for them, and the miles will have to be credited to you. Why not just put something in your Outlook reminding you to buy 1k miles every Jan 1?
My 4 year old has two. And he is PLT...

I smell the makings of a business opportunity here.

Pay an annual fee for someone else (with a large enough surety bond) to make certain that a mile or a few post to each account each 18 months to prevent expiration.

Maybe CT will offer such a service.

Hard to believe that ANY miles/points-earning credit card ever had that feature. I've NEVER earned miles/points for the annual fee -- on several different ones (UA MP Visa, AAdvantage M/C, Starwood Amex).

IIRC, MP VISAs don't offer miles for the annual fee, but you'll find a corresponding mileage deduction from your MP account if you cancel your credit card when the annual fee becomes due and have the fee refunded.

To get back to the original topic: I think having a card signed with Idine for each family member and doing at least one Idine transaction for each (not necessarily all at the same time) should work very well for those who have access to the program.

I just choose to share miles with my goddaughter - on / about her birthday, which occurs annually. And with this birthday gift, no worries about the US and Mexican mail / post office, Customs or anything like that. Yup, there's a cost, but it's less than gifting / buying miles, and I get credit towards my next million miles. Certainly not a brilliant solution, but it works for me.

IDine is much easier for folks outside of DFW....not too many choices here compared to elsewhere. Most (if not all?) of my IDine miles have posted from my travels...with a surprising number of restaurants in Richmond of all places. But like I said, we have GEXA and Tom Thumb in DFW.

How do you do this? (Have AA earning credit cards for kids) PM me if you dont want to post it. Not interested in churning cards for the kids, but keepng their accounts updated and for that matter building them credit.

Thanks!

Jim
