How about this for a solution "fly frequently" as in frequent flier. Then you do not have to worry about it.
HELP. Just discovered that my mother is about to have approx 21,000 miles expire in 10 days. She is UK resident, but I am US resident. Any suggestions for a quick cheap fix to keep these alive for another 18 months?
UPDATE: Found points.com recommendation above. Looks like this will be the best option.
Cutting the no-activity time in half seems a bit drastic. However, I'm in favor of the move. All people need to do, to keep their miles, is get an AA credit card.
im not sure if the AA co-branded credit cards are available outside of the USA.
Do you think she can request back all her expired miles when the last 4 segments are credited?
Yes, if the activity is prior to the expiration date, it should automatically unexpire those miles. If not, call the number shown above. Also the activity can not be more than 1 year ago, which it is not in your case.
