Citi companion ticket issues and questions (consolidated)

I have had this card for three weeks, however I have not yet had my first bill. I got this card as part of the AAdvantage 25 promo. First year free, 25,000 miles and companion cert. I have already received the 25,000 miles. When will I get the companion cert. Thank you for your help.

I'm still waiting for mine too. The Terms and Rules say "Your companion certificate will arrive 8-10 weeks after account approval."

When did you receive the miles? I'm surprised that they came before the first bill.
I got my card a few weeks ago and haven't received any miles yet (or the cert). I figured that they would post 6-8 weeks after my 1st statement, but I forget what the terms said.

I actually received the 25,000 miles too. They were posted at the same time with the miles from the 1st statement.

After 3 months, I never received the certificate and called CS. The person I spoke to in India had no idea what I was talking about and transferred me to a supervisor. After "searching" in her computer for several minutes, she claimed she couldn't find the companion cert offer and asked that I mail in the companian cert offer. I got one of the offers from the American Way and mailed it in. The cert arrived about 2 weeks later.

It took me three months and many phone calls to get the companion certificate when I signed up for the credit card in December 2005. It irritated the heck out of me when the certificate finally came in May but still had an expiration date of December 2006.

Now that I have the certificate, though, I'm not finding it to be much use because of all the restrictions.

Last week I got mine from the Anniversary promotion, so that's about a 1-month turnaround. Maybe it is tied to the first statement that prints with a payment from the cardholder.

Getting it is the easy part. Once you finally get it good luck using it. Between the blackout dates, capacity controls, no upgrade, etc it is only slightly more valuable than the paper on which it is printed.

I believe it's dependent on the $250.00 posting date (mine showed up 10 days after that mark was passed).

You have to spend at least $250 before the 25K bonus can be posted. If you accomplish the "goal" before your 1st statement closing date, the bonuses will be posted along with the "purchase-based points/miles in a day or two after the statement closes.

My miles were in the account when the statement closed, but the paper bill didn't arrive until several days later, so it seemed like the miles posted before the bill.

I just used it and saved $260, which is more than paper. YMMV

Does anyone still have a copy of the offer? I haven't gotten my cert and Citi claims that wasn't part if the deal.
I signed up on the same day as everyone else during the promo.

A timely subject for me as well. I have received my 25K bonus miles, and I can see that my first years annual fee has been waived. I still have not received the certificate despite meeting the requirement of signing up on May 18.

I called AA and had them confirm that I do indeed have to call Citi to resolve the missing certificate issue. I called Citi and the rep looked up my account and informed me that she saw nothing related to getting a free certificate. She offered to to "open up an investigation to determine whether a certificate should be mailed to me or not." She told me to wait approximately one week for an answer.
