AA Dining posts within a week. You get to try out a restaurant that you never knew about, you eat a nice meal, and you earn miles while at it

Depending on how many miles are at stake here, and how sure you want to be, I'd look at hitting this from multiple fronts, due to the time issue:

- buy an i-tune for 99 cents
- look at i-dine restaurants in your area
- join points.com

If none has posted by June 26th, bite the bullet and buy or donate a few miles.

Actually, it has been reported several times that so long as you do the necessary activity before your expiration date.

Yes, the miles will "expire" if it doesn't post in time. But, when the activity gets around to posting with the actual date, the system will re-instate the expired miles with no charge.

I went to the AAdvantage merchants list, and bought a 79 cent music download from buy.com . I'm wondering if that will be considered account activity and stop the miles from expiring? Thanks.
Did you read post 11? points.com. No cost to sign up and you get 10 miles quickly.

How to keep AAdvantage account active without flying for 18 months?

Is is possible to keep AAdvantage account active without flying for 18 months? If so, what is the cheapest way to keep the account active? Thanks in advance.

iTunes. Almost everyone buys a song or video or movie from time to time. The next time you do, go through this portal:

JDiver has put together an excellent "Unoffical User's Guide" as a sticky at the top of this forum. Here is a thread from that guide, which addresses your question perfectly and has numerous ideas for earning miles without flying:Best ways to prevent miles from expiring (consolidated)

You can also call the Advantage Desk and donate 250 miles to the Make a Wish Foundation. Actually that's the minimum but it's a great organization and keeps your account active for another 18 months.

Make a donation to the Komen foundation through the AA portal - I believe you get 5 miles per dollar.

opinionplace.com will work if you can ever qualify for a survey.
rewardsnetwork.com is easy if you have a participating restaurant nearby.
points.com free bonus enrollment miles also works using the link on aa.com.
