As long as the activity shows a post date that is before the expiry date, the miles will extend -- even if the miles themselves don't show up before then. Therefore, if the miles have already been yanked, they should be reinstated at the point the activity posts.
so they will yank them all on 21st march?
can she donate miles to somewhere and they will be extended
or can she order a ticket and the rest will be extended?

Any unused miles that were earned since 1989 will expire (all at once) on the date equal to 36 months of no activity. Booking a ticket will not save the miles unless miles are dedcuted for free travel before the expirary date. Any activity that changes the balance of the account will extend the expiration for another 36 months. Electronic upgrades (stickers, the 500 mile variety) will not expire and are not affected.
If this person was to rent a car this weekend, stay in a hotel, or any other mileage accrual activity before the expiration date, those miles can be reclaimed when posted even if they do expire. Find some type of activity before they are lost and save the miles, even if you book an award ticket and have to cancel it afterwards. But fees would apply to reinstate the miles.
I just called AA from Australia and got india and they said

The Res folks can't help you in this regard. You would need to speak to AAdvantage customer service.

If they do it, it's only as an exception for people who never use them -- people who typically fly international or paid J/F tickets already. It's not an official policy.
Don't know why you got india. if your friend is interntational and has limited or no domestic travel aa will convert stickers to miles 500 miles for each sticker, not great but better than nothing and they credit imed. Since no activitiy in three years that shouldnt be a problem. I assume friend is Australian. It is not on aa.com.

You can donate money to charity and receive miles. Or you can donate miles to a charity - spending miles from the account keeps it active just as well as earning new miles does.
In both cases, I don't think there is a lower limit (money given or miles donated) to qualify.
It says cannot donate if miles are expiring wihtin one month
