Point of information: the miles don't have to post by 6/14. The activity has to take place by 6/14. If it does, and AA takes away the miles, they'll put them back. They'll probably be restored automatically, though if this doesn't happen within a reasonable time I'd call.
(You will be far from the first person who had a qualifying activity within the required time frame that didn't post until after it. They've seen this situation a bazillion times, are quite familiar with it, know what to do, and do it well. Relax.)
Need to post activity onto an AA account where current miles there are due to expire in June 14th.
Believe the best way, other than flying which is not an option now, is to buy something as 1-800-Flowers, for roughly $20.
As another poster noted, the miles don't have to post before 6/14 (although that would be nice), only the activity has to be dated before that day - and it can involve either earning miles or spending them!
Or, you can subscribe to a magazine, gift a few miles, etc.
In future consider getting an "affinity" credit card (I have Citi AAdvantage) and sign up with Rewards Network dining, so a few miles keep getting posted to your account without any conscious effort on your part.
One comment on the iTunes/eShopping miles: They can take up to two months to post. My last activity posted is from early february; my march miles have yet to post...

Highly appreciate any suggestions for anything lower cost or that would surely post new miles before 6/14, regardless of supplier. Focus is on a reliable company who is sure to post miles within this timeframe.
Thank you for your assistance.
sign up for points.com, take the 10 miles (or current) aa miles offer.
It's free.
Register, find a restaurant, go in, and order a Coke. Pay with your credit card and pick up 3 miles and extend the rest of them.
I concur with AA Dining. Miles posts within a week or so so it should be plenty of time. And, they do pretty lucrative promos every now and then so it's not a bad way to earn petty miles when you go out and eat

Fully appreciate same questions sometime pop-up, but then I am also used to gladly inform again and again so that we can all keep assisting each other; vrbaba thanks for pointing me to a comprehensive thread.
Went the Points.com route, hopefully there'll be 10 points there. Thanks mvoight !
ITunes now only offer miles for gift cards, no more for single musics. captaink thanks !
I'm out of the US, the dining programme is somehow awkward; Anyway asked a close friend to assist me, hopefully he will. StrandedinSC's great input seemed impossible to achieve, but then I'll try to do it as well.
Efrem and aktchi comments make me more comfortable as I wasn't aware of the registration/post dates; Again, thank you all for the great answers.
It's a pleasure to know we can count on each other.

I'm quite certain you are misreading the "merchant exclusion" on iTunes/eshopping. It reads:
Effective 6/20/08 AAdvantage miles may be earned on the purchase of printable or emailable gift cards only. Plastic gift cards and prepaid cards are not eligible to earn AAdvantage miles. You will not earn AAdvantage miles from the Apple Store if you click the Apple Store tab from the Apple iTunes website link. To earn AAdvantage miles from the Apple Store, shop directly with Apple Store.
The term "only" refers specifically to printable/emailable gift cards, as opposed to printable/emailable/plastic and prepaid. It does not indicate that single song purchases. I buy on i Tunes all the time, and often have just a few miles post.

Thanks for correcting me on that one !
Based on the exact paragraph you mention, I read it as "gift cards only"; Then I'll just buy one/two songs

Certainly that's how I read it. I looked back at my past AA statements and in almost every month since June '08 (when the exclusion I posted was instituted) and I have had individual song purchases, movie rentals, etc... credited from i Tunes/eshopping.
Actually, I think that thread is more oriented to those who need added miles for an award (it seems to quickly veer off in that direction). The master thread that the OP really needs is: <Best ways to prevent miles from expiring?>
I understand as long as you have some activity in your account, the miles will not expire. If you order something through the online store, do the miles have to post within the 18 months, or do you just have to make the purchase within the 18 months?
Make the purchase. When they post they should show as the purchase date. If miles have expired before posting, they should be reinstated if your activity (purchase date) was before their expiration.

A simple way to not have to worry about expiring miles is to open up a free Guaranty AirMiles Checking account at www.guarantybank.com. According to a flier in one of those Airmail communications from AA that arrive once in a blue moon, you will earn 2,000 miles for opening an account (minimum of $100 to open account and get bonus). If you were to use this checking account for recurring direct deposits you'd get another 1,000 bonus. The interesting thing, though, is that you'll get MONTHLY one AA mile for each $10 average daily balance. In the fine print of the flier I do not see any stipulation that you need to maintain a particular minimum balance, so conceivably you could take out $90 after earning your 2,000 opening bonus, leave $10 in the account, and earn every month one AA point. At an APY of 0.15% the interest is so minimal that I don't think I'll tie up a lot of money to get an extra 5 or 10 miles.
Whoa, look out for the fineprint:
Monthly Service Charges
There's no monthly service charge unless your minimum daily balance falls below $2,500 and your average daily balance falls below $3,500 during the statement cycle, which results in a $10 fee.

I just donated 100 miles to "miles for kids" through the AA website, but they did not post. I thought these posted immediately. Did I do something wrong or does it take a little while to post?
