Just made it for the 6th year in a row. Usually, I make it by September, this year December......Next year, I hope I dont make it.....I'd love to be home
Finaly! 6 years PLT, last year was my first EXP and just got it renewed with my MIA-DFW-FRA!!! I could have taken Lufthansa non-stop but opted for AA to renew my EXP.

I couldn't disagree more.
My last year as a Gold on CO (2003), my upgrade success rate was less than 50%. As a Platinum on AA during the past 2+ years, I successfully received over 80% of the upgrades I requested, including many with a companion. Sure, CO's upgrades are free, but what good is free if you don't get the benefit most of the time?
In addition, the 100% bonus AA Platinums earn on AAdvantage miles is far more valuable than the 100% bonus CO Golds earn on NonePass miles. AAdvantage miles trump NonePass miles.
Does EXP "kit" still come FedEx?? Just made it 12/25
I haven't been EXP since 2003, but made it again this year (nice X-mas morning, as part of it was seeing my EXP status). Was wondering how long it takes to get the new EXP card, and does it come Fed Ex?

It took about 10 BUSINESS days for me when I crossed the magic number in early Dec., but with the holidays and end of the year mileage runs, many new EXPs, it make take a little longer.

Heck, it easily took that long when I crossed over to EXP in April...and you wouldn't think they'd be that swamped early in the yar.

My flight on Friday, 12/22 put me over the top, and my new status updated on Christmas day! I've got one more flight to post this year, and then it's on to next year's qualification!

I have a related question, if you all don't mind.
When one qualifies for EXP for the 1st time, or as a promotion from Plat not a requal, is it still necessary to call and have the records on all upcoming flights updated to reflect one's new status vis a vis UGs, etc?
