My 1MM moment was a non-moment. It happened when my TWA lifetime miles got added to my AA account...
Ditto ... but the only reason I had that many TWA miles is that I transfered in all my AmEx Membership Rewards points. A brief, long-gone window to get AmEx points into AAdvantage, but it worked for me. Have to thank FT for alerting me to this possibility. I might have thought of it myself anyway, but probably wouldn't have.
I just hit 1M on Nov 20 on my way from SJC to LHR for a nice 10 day London vacation. Where I got to stay in the radiation contaminated 5star hotel It's all good.
My hubby hit 2M last year but I don't remember which flight tripped him over.
I'm pretty sure, though not absolutely, that I passed 1MM on a flight somewhere between DFW and SEA. 2MM will probably be Citibank sometime this winter or spring since I'm sitting at 1,982,467 an may not fly AA much for a while due to a new job. I see the OP's point, but I'll take lifetime PLT any way I can get it!
As I haven't crossed yet, I figure I can plan my 1MM moment, and hopefully it will involve a flight with a beautiful woman somewhere in the back of the plane....

If you cancel an award ticket, the reinstated miles (which have already been counted once) do not get added a 2nd time, even though your available balance goes up. That's the only exception I know.

Howdy,
MD80, DWF-ORD put me over the edge in 04. I have done almost no flying for the past year; but I'm back in the air again - so I might hit 2MM in a couple of years.

How does one count the 1,000,000th mile? Is it at the time it posts on AA.com, or when you earned it (date stamp on line item)? Some things take weeks to post. And new items sometimes post at the top of the list on AA.com, sometimes on the bottom (like credit card miles, dining rewards elite flyer spending bonus, etc.)
Just trying to understand what people's criteria are.

For me I think it will be when it posts, because that's when the status goes into effect I think.
I think the 25k chicago bonus will put me over. The sooner the better!
It was summer of 2005 returning home from Warsaw via LHR. BA had the meltdown with catering. I am looking for 2MM but will take some time since no longer traveling as hard as before. I assume my 2MM will be a purchase at the supermarket. Orange Juice 4.95, - 0.50c manufacturer coupon + sales tax = 2 MM + 4 VIP
