FA thanks me for being EXP

Last night I flew DFW to GPT on AE. When the beverage cart came by my exit seat, I identified myself as EXP and asked for cashews and a drink. The FA handed the snack saying thank you for your business on AE. She then added, "I love my job and appreciate your flying with us." Interesting!

Just did my first MR DFW-LGA-BOS-LGA-DFW of 3 last weekend. Both AE legs I got a free drink and snack. Also, they were great FAs.

Does anyone know about the free drinks on American Connection flights? Anyone had success?

I had a recent AE flight from Chicago to Columbus. Ordered a virgin mary - FA asked, would you like anything in that? I declined, but was given the cashews along with my drink and a verbal "thanks for flying with us~!"

No it is just American Eagle. I was on a flight from BDL-STL when the guy ahead of me ordered a beer and was then shocked he had to pay. He asked the F/A and she said "sorry sir, this is Chatauqua Airlines dba American Connection, not American Eagle."

DCA-RDU last Saturday, ordered a Diet Coke and was offered snacks and booze "since I was Platinum." The F/A had the manifest and was working off that. I declined. RDU-DCA, next day, nothing ordered and nothing offered.

I am going to be stuck on AE RJs for one segment in a series of flights the next two weeks.

I've only seen copy/pastes of e-mails from Customer Service, no links to the policy online, and I have not been able to find it on AA.com.

Anyone else had any luck finding an online page that can be printed out to carry (I like to keep copies of the rules in case of need)?

Thanks,

Steve

Nope, but I've never tried to find printed rules. I haven't been turned down yet, so no need.

Cheers.

Me too. I get booze & snacks NP. I have gotten great service on AE recently. I would say better than normal AA flights especially Intl.

back in august I sent an email to AA asking about a clarification on the policy. Here is the answer. I have printed it and I carry a copy with me. I only had to show it once.

August 22, 2008

Dear Mr. docr775:

Thank you for contacting Customer Relations. We appreciate the opportunity to address
your concerns.

Executive and Platinum member, customers connecting to or from AA and
oneworld Alliance First Class, Business Class, Uniformed Military and AAirpass
customers may be offered complimentary beer/wine and either a $2 snack or a Snack Box,
when requested on American Eagle. Family members traveling with Premium Customers may
also receive complimentary items. If a flight attendant does not have the appropriate
paperwork to identify these customers, customers may be asked to show their boarding
passes or AAdvantageŽ membership cards.

We look forward to serving you again soon.

Sincerely,

To further confuse matters, I was on a Chatauqua operated Connection flight last night (STL-DSM) where it was announced on the PA that there was a complimentary drink and snack.

Wasn't expecting that as it wasn't Eagle, but I can't argue with a free beer.

Cashews or almonds?

I usually get a diet Coke and cashews when I am on AE. Last week on my DFW-BTR flight I was offered a choice of trail mix or almonds. Is this a new offering or a temporary substitute?

"May" be offered? So still, there is no definitive answer?

Nothing is permanent, but cashews are gone and it's trail mix and almonds on Eagle now.
