I am tardy in posting my reply, but I went back to view my miles and now see this:
2/02/06 AMERICAN AIRLINES 1610 Y DFW STL 550 550 1,100
12/02/06 AMERICAN AIRLINES 825 Y IND DFW 762 762 1,524
12/01/06 AMERICAN AIRLINES 4232 Y ORD IND 177 823 1,000
11/30/06 AMERICAN AIRLINES 1196 Y SEA STL 1,709 1,709 3,418
Life is good. Credit for all legs flown. The DFW Double Miles were added, as well.

I can similarly confirm that if you end up having to fly a HECK of a lot more miles & segs than origianlly routed, you can and do get miles for the segs flown, and the bonus miles associated w/ promos for cities "indavertently" flown to/thru, etc. I think I was re-routed to & thru DFW at least 3 or 4 times, and am seeing at least 3 or 4 DFW/DAL promo bonus miles.

Bumped to other airline - how long for miles to post to AA?
I did a search - but most questions/posts were OW related.
I got bumped from AA to a Continental flight. I assume the miles and EQM will be deposited to my AA account. How long does this usually take? So far it has been about a month.

They won't show up - unless you call AAdvantage Customer Service and ask very politely for "original routing credit." Even then, they might, they might not. Mech/Ops will get you further than weather related, etc...
EDIT: Correct phone for this issue: 800-421-0600, option #2

Ooh, this is really tough. I think according to the official rules that they don't HAVE to do so. And I'm all but certain that it won't happen automatically. This happened to me when I was bumped off a codeshare Brussels Airlines flight and onto an Ethiopian plane. It took months but they finally credited my RDMs and EQMs. In fact, if I remember correctly, that's what got me to Gold status on AA for the first time. You probably want to contact them about it, though, and don't give up if they say no. Just call again and get another AAgent.
This has happened to me twice. Both time customer service gladly gave me miles, points and segments. It was posted the very next day both times. You must ask however it is not automatic.
I'll echo the "definitely not automatic" and "they don't have to do it" parts. Do call and ask, If you get "no," call again.
For future reference it is wise to have them note "original routing credit" in your record at the time of the bump, i.e. before the flights. Tends to make things smoother.
I had this happen on a recent flight and when I asked for original routing credit I also mentioned I was working towards my million miles. The agent smiled and said - "No problem."

The other way is to say "Can I still have my AA miles?" when you volunteer for the bump and solve their problem. Usually they are only too happy to say yes.

Actually, the proper thing to do is to ask AA at the time of the incident to note in your PNR "Pls post original mileage as involuntary rerouting (bumping, downgrading etc...)" and then call AAdvantage in order to call their attention to it. It works better (I learned the trick here months ago).
Agree with what others said, but one point of clarification. You won't likely have much success using the AA online form. We tried that, and the original flight still didn't post. However, a call to the service center did the trick.
