Whew! AA CS is working to put me back on my original flights. I don't have the energy to call back next week to try to beg, plead, or argue to get those original miles. And I actually do love to sit on AA planes for hours at a time!

Guess I'll have to stock up on a couple more paperbacks for my journey home!

Question What if the re-route is "better"???

On the flip side of this....what if the "re-route" is waaaaaay more miles/segments than the original routing? I'd get credit for what I actually ended up flying, right??

I have this happen before and was able to get the original mileage credit. It's better to have it noted on the front end then trying on the back end like you had to do.

How long should it take to show up on AA.com (i.e., this was processed on a Saturday morning, when can the poster expect to see the miles in her account)?

Thanks,
J S

Moved to UA on Friday after what was to be my first fly 3 bonus flight from ORD CXL'd along with everything else. Was told that I would get EQM for the UA flight, the first 5K bonus under the fly 3 would apply and that the flight would qualify as an AA round trip for the next fly 3 bonus flight. Hope it actually posts as promised.

I really lucked out...

Scheduled FLL-DFW-ORD-DFW-ORD on 11/29.

Sat on plane DFW-ORD for a few hours...got to ORD, everything returning either cancelled or delayed, causing mis-connect for me back to FLL.

Protected on ORD-MIA.

Had agent notate PNR and called AAdvantage customer service while still in ORD. Next day original routing miles (with bonuses) post ORD-DFW-FLL.

I send email to customer service asking about online bonus since it was overridden manually...250 miles post.

Then, Saturday I check account and see where I have gotten flown segment ORD-MIA as well...including additional 250 online bonus miles...

Possibly after the next batch processing to our AAdvantage accounts? That would probably be Tuesday night. Given the messes this weekend, I'd be perfectly happy to wait through the next weekend cycle to show, but YYMV, so to speak.

Or you could get the best of both routings.
I was due to fly YUL-JFK-SFO last February, but all flights out of JFK were cancelled due to a storm. We were rerouted to YUL-ORD-SFO, and when they eventually gave us routing credit it was for YUL-ORD and JFK-SFO, netting us a few more miles.

I'm fearful you are stuck in that mess known as ORD right now. Read your posts and struggle to get rerouted back though ORD and hope you're nto paying for it now. I was scheduled on #67 tonight, but got out warly, thank GOD!!! Showing scheduled 5 PM departure now estimated 11:30PM. Hoping you're nto on that, if so, you're definitely earning your status!!!

I lucked out today and took earlier AUS-ORD. So then I was able to jump on earlier ORD-DFW (I had been booked on 67) and earlier DFW-TPA. Was 67 the only ORD flight that was delayed, or were there a lot of them? All I had time to do was run from gate to gate in ORD. Got home about 4 hours early.

I'm not sure when my TPA-ORD-AUS miles posted. I kept looking, and I saw that my DFW bonus miles were there, so I thought the BIS miles hadn't posted yet. But then I looked closer, and my miles had changed (increased), but the DFW bonus stayed. I heard the agent say something about the system wouldn't let her delete the bonus.

On my DFW-TPA, I ran up to the gate just before they started boarding (AC had put me on standby list) and asked if they had anything in F. So she handed me my F BP. But the stickers haven't been deducted from my account yet. Since it seems like they're usually deducted immediately, I think this might have been an op-up. I know the next later DFW-TPA was overbooked.

SOunds liek you were in the same situation that we were. And sounds like you made the same good choices. We got out early as well, proably on the same flight you did and ended up home about 1 hour earlier than originally scheduled. I just checked #67 from last night and it finally left at 11:48, over 6 hours late. I'm sure there were plenty of unhappy people involved in that disaster. Arrived at DFW around 2 AM!!! OUCH!

Funniest thing is, that I was joking with my fiancee about wanting to fly the 777 in "business" since i had never done it before. I knew she would never go for waiting, and I wouldn't have actually done it, but she's now taking credit for getting us out of there early.

Glad you made it back safely and quickly as well.

FT'ers - Chew on this one!

Thursday, I checked AA.com and learned that I was no longer flying to Dallas on AA 1276. I was now booked on AA 1196 SEA-ORD and continuing to St. Louis. The original flight and the rebooking had the same departure times, and the final arrival in St. Louis was to be about 40 minutes earlier. Landed in a cloudy, yet dry ORD. Next, I learned that 1196 was cancelled and I was now booked on 1034 at 1:40 p.m. It cancelled. I stood in line and chatted alternately with EXP desk and HHonors desk. They were handing out hotel vouchers (distress vouchers?) at the gate. I was about fourth in line when the agents announced they had to work another gate and just left. I left the secure area and stood in a line for cancelled flights. They offered a flight to Milwaukee (American Eagle) and then another AE flight to St. Louis around 8:30 p.m. I declined; ask yourself where would you like to be stranded in the storm? An agent offered me a $59 voucher for a Ramada Inn. I declined. HHonors desk said no rooms at O'Hare Airport Hilton. That did not ring true. I tunneled over and approached the desk. There was room at the inn...for the bargain price of $309 per evening and $9.95 for wireless access. Any port in a storm. Checked in, and woke up the next day to a very snowy ORD. My 1235 p.m. flight was cancelled. Oh, BTW my bag was not with me. It was checked and they would not give it to me. Next option was AE to Des Moines, IA and AE to STL. I declined. Neither the Milwaukee or Des Moines flights to STL ever flew as scheduled. Finally, I was offered AE 4232 to Indianapolis. The weather was clearing and I felt good to go. We made it to Indy at about the time the connecting flight was to board. PANIC! Alas, the flight (number dumped from short term memory) was delayed and delayed and delayed. The EXP desk let me know around 6:00 p.m. that the flight was cancelled. I called HHonors and booked a room downtown at the Homewood Suites. I was there on Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. Very quirky little property in a restored historical building. (Very unique property and pleasant staff). I ate dinner at St. Elmo...highly recommended. Went shopping for replacement clothes and luggage at Nordstrom. Next morning, flew AA 825 to DFW and AA 1610 to STL. Home at last on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. This complicated matters as I was scheduled to fly out of STL to MCO on Saturday morning at 0630. Missed that - rescheduled for Sunday.

NOW...the mileage actually posted like this:

11/30/06 AMERICAN AIRLINES 1196 Y SEA STL 1,709 1,709 3,418

I actually flew four segments to get home and I was originally booked through DFW for the double miles bonus.

I think I have a beef; what do you think?

Thanking you in advance.

Happy Holidays

P.S. This has not happened to me in several years. This year has been exceptional;

Summary Date: Dec 2006

Program to Date Miles: 1,659,813

YTD Elite Qualifying Points: 136,467

YTD Elite Qualifying Miles: 98,350

YTD Elite Qualifying Segments: 56

Sure you have a beef. The miles are simply posted wrong. I'd call AAdvantage Customer Service and tell 'em you want credit for what you actually flew, including the DFW bonuses for which you were enrolled.

I don't think I'd ever do this. Instead, I'd call the EXP desk. Did you call the EXP desk, and did they tell you go to stand in line outside security?
