If lots of people keep complaining about the lack of eVIPs for North American residents at the 1MM level . AA might just remove the 1MM level all together and standardize the benefit to start at 2MM.
But this is pure speculation, correct? Or are you implying you know AA discussed this idea?

I have no sources at aa like some other people might.
Since we know AA reads these posts (supposedly) and since about 99% of North American residents complain about the discrepancy of eVIPs vs stickers ... what would you do if you ran a business.
If the customers are unhappy with this undocumented program, aa is likely to change it. Either remove the 1MM level totally and start at 2MM (since 1MM with credit cards and all the tie-ins nowdays is much easier to reach) OR change it to all eVIPS (or all stickers) . .or maybe just luggage tags...or [insert your suggestion here]
Since people seem to try to get around the system by changing addresses and writing nasty letters .. I think AA will probably get tired of the crap and change it. Hey its not documented so they CAN change it.
But yes .. pure speculation. Just like the pure speculation of when the 777s will get NBCS!
I would guess that the number of complaints/nasty letters (hell, letters at all) about the xMM programs are very, very few. No one but us really knows about these. Someone gets a letter saying "thanks for reaching 1MM- you get GLD for life and 8 stickers". If they're not EXP all the time, this might be cool. If they fly enough to be EXP all the time (without reading FT), it goes into the ho hum pile and they don't think about it. I can't imagine anyone but us (and there are not a lot of us, overall) sweats something like this enough to complain.
It took 6 days to get the upgrades and e-mail that I will be receiving the "gifts" in the mail. (I just got the e-mail today.)
I didn't know about this benefit before, and will finish the year with 24,965. I know that many of you wouldn't dream of flying without EXP, but I just dread no status. I did an ORD-STL MR last year to ensure I was over 25K.
13 years to 1MM.. I wonder how quickly I can get to 2MM....
Oh my, YOU ARE LUCKY! My only advice to you would be to keep earning mile until you are able to earn so many that you want travel the world on awards or paying a pitty amount. That's what I would do! Oh my, how much I love travel...I JUST WISH I HAD THE MONEY!

Since it's all my own dime, all the miles are either accumulated at a penny/mile or less, or just redirecting spending I would do anyways for same or better price than I was looking at elsewhere. Yes, I do still buy things I think are better and/or cheaper that get me no miles (other than credit card miles). I'm part Scottish, so I'm too cheap...I mean "frugal", to do it any other way.

Sort of a shame, as I think the gold color looks better, especially with the stripes and eagle as a shiny metal as opposed to the mottled metallic of the platinum. And the rarity is much higher since it's just the one time.
We'll see if enough cheap MRs pop up on weekends to keep me propped up at Platinum (as my just more than a month long business class oneworld award trip to Asia and Australia is soaking up nearly all of my vacation time next year--thanks FlyerTalk!).
Thanks,
Steve

I'm curious why you worded this "still offers". Did someone tell you that AA had lifetime EXP at some past point in time? I only go back with AA 5-6 years, and I can't recall lifetime EXP ever being mentioned here as a perk.
