Oh well... I guess I will get the usual WAGs as has been posted previously...
..It is now many years later and thought that someone might have more accurate accounting..
The accuracy slope has gone precipitously in the other direction since any threads you might have found via search.
I just crossed 2 MM yesterday. AA hasn't posted my flights yet, and is only showing 1,998,626. Why have they not posted yet? Why was someone not waiting at my arrival for the flight that crossed 2MM with my letter and package? Seems that AA is slipping up here...
I happily crossed the 1mm threshhold today! I imagine most people won't care, but this stuff fascinates me, and where else can one share meaningless minutae like this...here are some stats on my million miles earned with AA.
It took me 7 years + 1 month to earn the million. I signed up in Jan 00. In those 7 years I was:
Gld 4 years
PLT 2 years
No status in 1 year (unemployed!)
1m miles breakdown:
337k = flight miles
192k = bonus miles for Gld/Plt status
323k = Citibank Mastercard miles
8k = hotel bonuses
14k = dining miles
126k = Miscellaneous, including AA shopping, car rentals, AA.com reservations bonuses, and various other AA special offers.
Thanks for indulging me.
I have no idea about the breakdown, but I've been Aadvantage since very early on (within a year or so after they launched the program), but just hit 1 MM early last year.
I've gotten better at accumulating miles with bonuses and so on, so it looks like I'll hit 2 MM before the end of next year.
Location: MSP (and will only fly NWA in re-routes if I HAVE to)
Programs: AA EXP (4.5MM), hotel programs as needed

Cheers.
Sorry ... I must have been on the same flight as you yesterday. Special Services was waiting at the gate with a sign BRP and they had a bucket of champagne in the cart.
I must have gotten off before you and identified myself as you.
WOW the champers was nice and the shrimp and salmon on the back of the cart they provided made a nice treat on the way to my next gate.
See .. that will teach you to use FEBO and sit at the back of the cabin. I got your benefits of the party at the gate!
Then again, we are all friends here at FT.
Oh and the AA special gift they gave you will be mailed directly.. I already have a LVutton passport case so do not need the black leather AA one they were giving you.

that reminds me of the bud light commercials from several years back, where the guy would pose as someone else b/c he sees buckets of bud light. one of the commericals he actually is getting off a plane and leaving the airport and spots a chaffeur for someone (i think a japanese name), and says he is him "yes i am".

There was a great one with Coach K from Duke... ah memories

That commercial is a favorite of mine!
A guy asks the driver if the limo carries Bud Light, then the driver asks the guy "Are you Dr. Galazkiewicz?".
Guy replies "Yes, I am".
Once in the limo, the guy starts fooling with the buttons, opening and closing the windows.
"First time in a limo?" the driver asks.
"In a limo this small," the fake Dr. G. responds.

I have a lowly 636718 miles and have been flying on biz and personally for 3 years. All my points are bum in seat and bonus flight miles.
I have been flying back and forth across the pond in discount Y (thanks to my oh so generous company) which doesn't help.
Are a substantial amount of your points earned by some other means? Credit Cards etc. Or are you all the lucky dudes who get paid J & F flights?
Well here I am 18 months later and have just ticked over to 1003902 Programme to Date Miles. Almost all BIS, status and cabin bonus miles.
No more pond crossings in Y for me as I have moved on to better things in the job department.
Now all my flying is just that - my flying and not where some company wants me to go.
Still haven't managed to get around to getting a CC that scores AA miles though. Maybe that will be next along with my 2 million miles post

OK, so clarification. As a domestic customer, when you cross 2MM, 3MM etc, you get 4 eVIPs at the time you cross that threshold, correct?
So, when I cross 2MM, what do I receive the following year, assuming I don't reach another milestone? Do I receive stickers or eVIPs?

You get 4 VIPS for hitting 2 million. Where did you get the idea you would get an annual gift?
My father travelled for many years on AA and got 1MM the old fashioned way. He passed 1MM last year and got stickers when he did. In January of this year, he got 4 more stickers, even though he didn't fly. I assumed these additional 4 stickers were an annual award.
Assuming you are correct, I'm not sure why he received 4 additional stickers this year.

There is no annual gift for MM status, so I'm also puzzled as to why your dad got 4 more stickers without any flying. But he should just go somewhere and enjoy them
