I just registered, and I'm surfing around, and it seems most info on there is available on the AA site, unless I'm missing something, which I usually am.

Lots of the information is available on AA.com. I prefer the format on Expertflyer showing all of the fare buckets. It also allows me to check for upgrade space which you cannot do with AA.com.

International and domestic. There is a certain amount of self-education required to take advantage of the information on Expertflyer. You at least have to know what the fare classes mean.

Award travel on Qantas (just used it to check availability SFO-YVR). Can't do that on the AA web site. I have another Qantas trip in two weeks to Australia that I plotted out on EF.
I have friends that are flying to eastern Europe this week, and their first few segments were RNO-DFW-ORD-BOS-LHR. I set up EF to e-mail me when T availability opened on ORD-LHR so they could bypass BOS, which it did just yesterday for their May 7 flights (jumped all the way from T0 to T7).
It's nice to check AA award travel over a 7 day period versus one day at a time on the AA web site.

You can check AA award availability on AA.com. You just can't check the amount of seats available easily on AA.com, but its possible.
That's because I'm an idiot. WHat I meant (and I've modified my post) is Upgrade Availability. I had just been reading a thread about upgrading award flights and had the wrong term in my head. You are, of course, correct.
I managed to book an interesting award itin on AS by searching for W inventory. I feel like I can search for my own specific needs much faster than relaying it to an AAgent who probably is getting more annoyed at me
EF is also useful for plain old seat availability. Unfortunately, AA.com's seat maps aren't always "accurate." You should try EF for 1 month and see how you like it. For $4.95, what have you got to lose?

$4.95
For availability of published fares, there are a few places that are free, that show the same info as EF. Do some research if you want to find them (btw, I'm not considered research )
