hello everyone

the best to be able to get miles transferred from Amex Membership rewards to AA account is to transfer your Amex points to Starwood hotels....then after 20 000 starwood points you have in your account ....starwood will give you an extra 5000 miles to transfer to AA.....
20 000 starwood points for 25 000 AA miles not bad

Yes but it takes 66,000 MR to get 20,000 Starwood
333 Starwood I think for every 1000 MR
Not a good deal in my book

Is there a way to move my Plat Amex MMiles to American Airlines?

I'd like to get enough miles for a business class ticket to Australia and I'm short by 15K.

Try using the handy Mileage Converter calculator at our sister website www.WebFlyer.com. I do think you may find conversion losses will hurt this transaction, as the best exchange rate I can see takes at least four transactions and ultimately changes 25,000 MR points to 15,000 AA miles, and limitations on exchange transactions AMTRAK has recently put in place.

Fewer transactions will require 50,000 MR points to render 15,000 AA miles, but look over the conversions - do you have Starwood or HHonors points, which are more readily converted?

Would MR points transferred to Continental OnePass get you the Qantas seat more directly? "Transfer your points to Continental Airlines OnePass, Delta SkyMiles, Navigator TAP Air Portugal, or Alitalia Mille Miglia." (And SN Brussels now as well.)

It was the Mexicana converstion that I remembered rather than the Starwood conversion - yikes 3:1
