I think some of the CDG - Brussels / Bruxelles high speed trains already "fly" as AA codeshares. Dunno if they ever qualify for double miles however.

For the record...

It is spelled de Gaulle. Could this faux pas on the AA website lead to banishment to ORY?

How lame... a few years ago they offered 5000 miles bonus for a R/T on the train codeshare!

Is it possible to book these train flights without an air portion? How much?

Let me get this straight...

1. The double miles do NOT include the US-CDG portion of the trip.
2. The double miles are only for what you ride on the train in France.

Is this correct?

If so, WAY too much trouble for not enough miles!

You're right on 1 and 2. Your last assertment is a matter of perception. It benefits those who take that trip anyway - but probably not enough to encourage mileage running to, say, St. Pierre des Corps.

I will be travelling using award ticket between ORD and CDG. Do I qualify for double miles on SNCF, if ticket is not a paid one.

So does this double the 500 minimum or does it double the underlying miles, after which the 500 minimum is applied? I.e. for CDG-XDB (Lille), are we getting 1000 miles or the 500 minimum obtained by multiplying the actual mileage of 111 by 2 and applying the 500 miles minimum to the result of 222?

Oh, and by the way, the 500 miles minimum is no longer guaranteed in writing (see this thread)
