For you lucky PLTs, EXPs, and premium cabin travellers....
OVERVIEW
AA: Pros: Lots and lots of space, rarely crowded, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Every lounge I've been in has conference rooms, printers, faxes, computers with internet access, and copiers. Cons: Interior design is high-end Office Depot. Only get two drinks coupons on international flights, but hey, why should I subsidize other people's drinking? Please scroll down for AA
BA Pros: Interior design excellent, great selection of free drinks, contemporary modern art, light meals and snacks. Cons: Crowded, noisy, sometimes dirty. Staff can sometimes be distracted and rude. Lack of conference rooms, computer, internet, fax, or printers.
Iberia Pros: Big lounge, computer access Cons: Cigarette smoke everywhere.
BRITISH AIRWAYS London, UK, Heathrow (LHR) Concorde room, Terminal 4 Lounge Pavillion, spring 2004
Probably the most exclusive airline lounge in OneWorld-- admission is by First class ticket or Premier BA card (invitation only). Very big lounge with excellent full scale, restaurant-style food service, and attentive, almost obsequious staff. Unfortunately non-descript airplanes now park where Concorde once stood.
First Lounge, Terminal 4 Lounge Pavillion
You have to go downstairs to get to this lounge, suffers from a confused identity and inferiority complex. Dedicated to BA Golds and EXPs flying longhaul in </=J or inter-Europe.
BA First Lounges Menu, .pdf, 0.3 MB
Note that this menu is not as extensive as the one in Concorde Room. A real shame for people travelling in F to long-haul destinations served by T1.
Terraces Lounge, Terminal 4 Lounge Pavillion, spring 2004
Supposedly this was refurbished, but I didn't see much change from last year (below), except for it was smaller. Staff at the check-in desk was absolutely unfriendly-- tried to refuse me admission even though I had a F ticket departing from T4 "for security reasons." Goodness knows what they'd have done if they saw me taking pictures!
First Lounge, Terminal 1 Lounge Pavillion
Travelling F long-haul, I felt ripped off using this lounge-- much more crowded, noisy, and with less of a menu selection than the Concorde Room. Couldn't use the computers at all during the three hours I was here (flight delay). The problem is that BA has the exclusive T4 Concorde room which is for ticketed First and Premiers versus the T1 First lounge that has a lot of BA golds on inter-Europe or non-F longhaul itineraries making this lounge much less exclusive. So at LHR there is a First, First Class lounge (Concorde Room) and a First Class Lounge (T1 F). Menu is identical to T4 F lounge
Terraces lounge, Terminal 1 Lounge Pavillion
Total chaos-- a zoo! I mean look at all those people moving around, talking on their cell phones. If I had to spend more than an hour here I think I'd have a nervous breakdown! Lounge was quite dirty, fingerprints everywhere. Lounge staff scurrying around, in a loosing battle against used plates, napkins, and wine glasses. Had to wait 10 minutes in a line to get on a computer. Get me to the Admirals Club, puhleeaze.
Dallas Fort Worth, TX (DFW) First Class lounge
No internet access, pre-flight dining, etc... Bad excuse for a First Lounge.
Terraces Lounge
BA shares this lounge with Korean Air-- now that's an unholy combination. Thank goodness there's no pre-flight dining! Lounge is policed by a big, intimidating Samoan woman. But she has a heart of gold (BA Gold) and will even make a BA luggage tag for you!
San Francisco, CA (SFO) First Lounge
Only difference I could tell between this and the Terraces lounge was that there was leather upholstery and less people. It's interesting to note how few people in the F lounge actually end up in the F cabin.
Terraces Lounge
No internet access or even a computer! In Silicon Valley!! For the past four years!!! Even the Admirals Club has intenet access!!!! Discussed ths with the manager, who was very appologetic, "They've been saying we'll get internet access soon, but then again it's been four years." No pre-flight dining, but the chicken sandwiches were surprisingly good. Great showers, towels, and bath amenities. Astonishing tarmac views!
Prague OneWorld Lounge
Decent lounge run by Czech Air, with Czech beer, good computers, but hardly any food.
IBERIA Madrid, Sala Velazquez Business Class Lounge
Run by IB with access for BA and AA (?) travellers. Cool laptop computers, lots of drinks and space, and lots of smoking Europeans.
AMERICAN AIRLINES Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX (DFW) Terminal C
One of the best AA lounges I've seen. Tons and tons of seating and space. Children's lounge, TV room, computers with internet access, and excellent office/conference facilities. Bar has an extensive wine list and a light menu of sandwiches and salads (you have to pay for the food).
Terminal B
Tons of space and seating, not very crowded. TV room, bar (with light snacks), fax, printer, copier, and internet computers.
London, Gatwick (LGW) (Historical)
I've heard this lounge has been shut down subsequent to AAs move to the North Terminal where the BA Terraces lounge is available.
Washington, D.C. Regan National (DCA)
This lounge seemed a bit small given how many business travelers there are in the Washington area, but DC generally suffers from AA neglect. Very friendly staff, great views of the airport, and all the business/computer facilities including a conference room.
Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina (RDU)
This lounge is a total joke, and in a blocked off part of the main concourse. Embarassing, given RDU-LGW is one of AAs most profitable routes (I've heard) due to trans-Atlantic Glaxo-Smith-Kline travel. Supposedly a new lounge is supposed to open so this may be historical. Staff is extremely friendly and gracious in a southern way.
San Franciso, California (SFO)
A bit small, only one computer, didn't see a copier or fax, but great views of the tarmac.

Superb idea for a thread CharlesMD
Can I add to the resource? You've got most of mine on there, but heres one you've not got yet
BA Terraces Lounge (Berlin Tegel Airport)
Pros: Very nice layout, super views over the apron (should have take some photos of it), great selection of beers and spirits, very quiet apart from the bird tweeting soundtrack and the fountain that makes you want to visit the bathroom every two mins, little VIP if you are cool enough to use it, quiet location up and away from the main departure area
I had to check the sky wasn't green this morning as this is quite a good idea for a post......
So I've reserved this space for upcoming details of the Terrace Lounge at Newcastle, together with the CX (dedicated) and BA (shared) lounges at Bahrain.;
Programs: AA EXP/2.7MM, UA 3P, Hyatt DIA, SPG PLT, HH Gold, and happily just a FT general member.

I don't think you can put your own copyright on material you post on Randy's website. We had a looooong discussion about this a few years ago, but if you post it here, you don't own it.
My suggestion would be that if you really think this is something you have a need to own or copyright that you need to move it to your own hosting/server.
I don't think you can put your own copyright on material you post on Randy's website.
The mere fact that he has voluntarily published it on a website with that clause in its TOS implies that he is waiving his copyrights as far as distribution on this site is concerned, regardless of his disclaimer to the contrary.
However, he does retain copyright for distribution in other channels as the original author of this work. Just because he posts it here doesn't mean that he can't publish it in a book as well. It also doesn't allow anyone but Randy/FT to reproduce it for any purpose.
Charles, you need a new camera, almost every single photo is out of focus, it seems like a damn shame to have such an extensive collection of photos in such crap quality. Otherwise, excellent job!

Hopefully he's a little more "focused" when he takes x-rays!
Seriously though, how can one even take such consistently out-of-focus photos now-a-days? (Assuming the photos are digital, etc.)

Although it may not be as exclusive, the first class section of the Wing/Pier in Hong Kong is better than the concorde room, IMO. You'll just have to fly to Hong Kong to check it out.

In any case, great work.
Excellent job with the pictures Charles. I first thing that crossed my mind when I saw some of the pictures was 'camera phone'.

Computers, workstations, copier, fax, printers, etc. are located in the Business Center across the hall. Ask the front desk staff for today's access code.
