I've got row 17 seats even without being on the flight. Last year i accompanied my parents to the airport and assisted them on check-in as well as cut through the line. 757 CCS-MIA flight was seasonally scheduled as a 763 instead. (thanks flightaware)

Arrived at the check-in counter. Handed passports. Enquire about equipment change. Asked row 17 seats, AA agent said not possible. Then she realized i was not a passenger. I politely asked for the supervisor. Supervisor came and i started a passionate talk about my interest of airline industry, high value customer of AA ....

Supervisor was in shock how i knew the aircraft's exits row by heart. The FF numbers of my mom & dad and the existence of row 17. It only took 5 minutes. Technique is always to ASK. It was awesome to get them row 17 seats even if i was not flying.

I have sucessfully grabbed every row 17 seat i can humanly can. No missed attempts, it has been sweet- even if it has only been 6 flights. Ask, ask and be nice. This has always worked for me

Talking about row 17. Just bought tickets yesterday on 763 with MCE. I have not flown American since the new branding. Saw plenty of seats for sale. Emergency Exits, some main cabin and the new MCE. Well, when i clicked on the map i saw Row 17 gray displayed as unavailable.

I want to know if these were for sale on the website, were just picked. Because before they were blocked T-24 and only available through the airport. Is there a way to know if these are picked or not?

I'm now non stat on deep discount econ. Panorama looks as row 29 on a 763. No complimentary e-exit. Don't want to pay extra for the exit. Venezuela is not in it's best times. My best luck would be to go for Row 17.

Can anyone chime in? A check on expert flyer?

Also BTW-
But this goes to another thread. What do you think of upgrading a MIA-CCS 3h30m flight on a 763. I purchased an "N" fare. As far as i know this would command 15k miles. Would you spend 15k miles on AA 763 business? I'm coming from deep discount econ. Also don't know how to proceed with international upgrades, but want to know if i still get Row 17 at the airport (as i usually do) and skip the upgrade part.

EF is your best bet. Differentiates between occupied and blocked.

EF lists them as blocked. Will these go available through AA.com at T-24? (Not familiar with new AA seats procedures now) Or old school T-24 airport counter?
