Citi-AA cards---Business and Personal???
Anyone know if you can get the bonus miles for getting both the Citi Gold Advantage card and the Citi Platinum for Businesses?
I am asking because I already got the 10,000 bonus miles for the Citi Gold individual card, and just got an offer for 10,000 AA miles for getting my business the Citi-Platinum card and thought that I had heard you cannot get both. Called up Citi rep and they couldn't answer...said they are both different cards, so would have to apply to see if can get it. I would rather not apply and have them say I cannot get the bonus miles and have an additional fee to pay for that card.

There is no reason why you shouldn't. They are two different applications and in this case, two different products. I have applied for several cards on different promotions and always got the miles attached to that promotion. My Citibank Citigold account allows me to waive the fee ( I have a fee for the citigold account), so after I get the miles, I ask them to waive the fee.
Although both are Citibank, they are separate entities. I would bet they count as separate partners for the 20/20 as they have different partner codes. The bonuses are issued for the individual account.
I'm pretty sure they are issued by two different Citibank subsidiaries. I had the same experience as SST. As to the differences, as bad as Citibank's consumer web site is, the one for the business card is much worse-a joke as a matter of fact. The service for that card also isn't as good as for the consumer card (which is pretty good). One other thing, the business card allows you to get extra cards for $25, spending for those cards is shown separately on statements, and they have their own credit limits.
(edited to add one other thing)

I have applied for both the Citi MC Business card and the City MC regular card. I already have a plain AAdvantage Visa. If both MC apps go thru then I will have 17,500 for $125. The next step will be to do the same thing for my wife. I have done this on similar promos and they always count the MC and Visa separate but I don't know if I apply for CitiBusiness and regular Citi when they are both a MC.
The recent offering I received for the business platinum card with 10,000 sign up miles stated that it would replace the regular AA citbank card. I'm gonna pass.
the offering I received in the Mail for the Citibank Business Visa card also said it would replace my regular CitiAAVisa for 7,500 miles. However, at the airport I picked up an application for the Citibank MC for 7,500 and filled it out. There was no reference to it replacing my AAvisa card. So I felt there was no risk in applying for it.
If it were going to replace my exisiting card I too would pass since I have too many things tied to my current card.
Yes I do have a comment. Be very careful about switching. I have a 3 Citibank Cards -2 Personal (1 Visa & 1 MC) plus one of the "new" Business Cards (Visa).
My Personal Visa was upgraded two years ago to an unlimited milage card with a fee of about $150/year. When I called Citi about switching to the new offer, the rep was very candid with me and suggested that I not do that as the current card had the unlimited milage feature and they simply do not offer that "product" anymore.
It's worth checking out before switching if you do have the unlimited milage card.
I have the Citibank business card. It is in addition to my personal card - not a replacement. I believe it may be a co-branded card and is not closely related to the regular personal cards. The billing info, website, accounts on line, etc. are all separate.
There is no real advantage to having it other than getting the bonus miles. They send business-type statements broken down by employee and type of service which might come in handy if anyone else in my business had a card. I will cancel it before the next year's fees are charged.
Citibank has a few types of business credit cards. There is one that earns AA miles, and one that does not.
AAaLot, my guess is that you are asking if you can have both a Citibank (non-AA) Business Card and a Citibank AA Business Card. That's a question for Citibank, but also keep in mind that you don't want too much unsecured credit. Maybe you can switch business cards.
nologic, I believe that the Citibank Business Card (both AA and non-AA) comes only in Platinum. Aside from the Business Card, they have their Citibank World MasterCard available in Gold & Platinum. Gold has $50 annual fee and an annual miles limit of 60,000 miles per year. Platinum has $85 annual fee, but you can get up to 100,000 miles. If I read their fine print correctly, the annual miles limit does not apply to you, because you are AA Platinum.
