Since you get double miles on AA ticket purchases and your goal is to get maximum AA miles, and have any business why not get the business card?

Wow. That's a biggie. Thanks for sharing, this is something that Citi does not tout! And it also explains why so many "business" cards offers are being sent to individuals. No business cards for me either--too much at risk.

Check out http://www.citicards.com/cards/wv/copy.do?screenID=1213 for a full comparison. As far as I can tell you get the same selection of destinations on all of their cards, with the Gold and AmEx requiring 40,000/20,000 while the Platinum Select and business cards requiring 37,500/17,000. The award code changes depending on the card, but that's about it.

As a side note, when I went to combine credit limits on my citi AA business card today, the CSR noticed I had opened a couple accts in the last 12 months for the bonus miles. They then explained that if I was targetted for future cards, just to call them and, instead of opening a new acct, they would credit the bonus miles. Has anyone tried this?

Citi Business® & personal AAdvantage® MasterCard® compare / questions (consolidated)

Now, about that idiot Moderator (c'est moi!) who wasn't paying attention anc clicked on Edit instead of Quote in huge's post #13, it's time for the tar and feathers, I say!

I wonder if this would work for personal accounts? I have three right now and would like to get another AA cc. Has anyone else had success getting the bonus miles credited without opening a new account?

Free bag shipping

One benefit that you get with the personal card that you don't get with the business card is the free luggage shipping with Luggage Express. I think it's only available to personal Platinum cardholders, but you can pre-ship luggage (2 bags-70 pounds total--one way) for free once a year. I'm positive that you can't do it with the business card because I had some disappointed, gift-less friends around Christmas time because I misread the fine print.

Someone has been spending too much time moderating and not enough time participating.

When I applied during the May 18th promotion, Citi converted an existing account to Aadvantage Mastercard and gave me the sign-up bonus. Maybe spurg's rep was suggesting to call for a conversion instead of applying for a new account?

This is absolutely correct. You are screwed if you have a problem and the credit card company doesn't solve it. No billing error rights.

You can read the sad case of business card holder Koerner and American Express in the leading U.S. Supreme Court case at http://supreme.justia.com/us/452/233/case.html

The case is 25 years old, but still permits the screwing of business card users.

I am certain she did not use the word "conversion". She did say if I got another "targetted offer" to open another Citi business card--I could just call and they would credit me the miles bonus. NOTE: Although this is what she said, unless this is some new policy for the Citi Bus MC, this seems unlikely....no one would bother churning if this was doable. Still, I'm curious, anyone out there have any luck along these lines?

I read this to mean award seat availability not seat availability. Is that how others read this sentence?
