AA transatlantic to MAN
Hello,
This will be my first time flying AA to MAN on Thu 11/29 for mostly leisure, I've been a DL SM member for many years now and trying out AA just to compare and see if the service is any different/better.
AA 54 is a 757 and it seems as if AA has 3 different configurations, I'm not sure which one I can expect. Any guidance on this one? Also, is it worth it to spend an extra ~$80-90 on moving up to Main Cabin Extra? Any differences between MCE and EC on DL?

Based on the fact that this is a red-eye flight and with the notion that I have no experience on AA 757, I would say go for MCE. On a red eye any inch extra is worth it. I see no MCE on seatguru, but that may not mean anything except seatguru is behind.
9BCDE, 10AF, 18CD would be my bet based on Seatguru. But for this trip I would be happy to pay $ 500 for an upgrade to J. What a night's sleep is worth to you is .. up to you
The ORD-MAN flight is operated with a 75L aircraft with 16 Seats in Business. It also features Main Cabin Extra in rows 10 to 16 (row 11 is missing). At the moment 10A is available is is simply one of the best Economy seats on the aircraft as there is not a seat in front of you. If not 10A then any other MCE seat will be worth the $$ IMHO.

Hmmm, how do you pay for the upgrade to J? Is this available online? I might be interested in that. I usually don't have much difficulty sleeping on longer flights, just take something that knocks me out and I'm good.

10A doesn't seem to come up for me, shows as being crossed off (as in it's taken?). MCE is open on rows 14, 15, and 18 for me. Is 18 really MCE though? It's an exit row that per seatguru has full recline and extra legroom.

10A is open, but only to elites. If 18 is open I'd grab that.
Just took this flight yesterday and found the legroom to be acceptable(I'm around 6ft tall), but, the plane on both my inbound and outbound journey was fitted with MCE.
Had I noticed on the seat map I would probably have gone for MCE (£62.50), every little bit of additional comfort helps for a night flight. Although, it's not usually a full flight at this time of year so try to secure a seat with nobody next to you; great to spread out a little!

AA in Y (non MCE) is noticeably tight. I would without hesitation upgrade to MCE. I've flown on these birds domestically and the extra legroom is great.

Would you say an MCE seat (14A) is better than an Exit row seat (18F)?

Good advice, and glad to know that the flight isn't usually full. Thanks!
