I did search for this and while I found a few people mentioning it happens to them, it was incidental to something else in the thread and no explanation was given.
So - why does my boarding pass never scan at the gate? Am I doing something wrong? Am I on some kind of list? It happens domestically and internationally, an every airport I fly out of, with all sorts of passes - printed from home, printed from kiosk, and agent printed.
Paper boarding pass? Print at home? Kiosk? Ticket Agent? Mobile?
.
"with all sorts of passes - printed from home, printed from kiosk, and agent printed." Mobile is the only one I haven't tried, because most airports I fly out of don't accept them.
It doesn't recognize it at all. The GA moves over to the other machine, types something in, and hands it back.
Quite bizarre. Also, you mentioned agent printed- is this from the check in counter or the gate? Id be curious to see if the GA printed it out and scanned it immediately after.

I honestly can't remember (I think it was probably from the counter), but maybe I'll see if they'll print one at the gate tomorrow and check that way.

And, if it still doesn't scan, I'd suggest asking the GA what the issue is. The consistency of this problem would have me at least a little bit concerned.

Cheers.
Yes, I should ask, but I feel like I've already help the line up enough at that point. They're letting me board, so it's obviously not a major issue, but anomalies make me want to find an explanation.

This happened to me earlier this year on a three-segment trip - none of my boarding passes scanned that day, despite having new ones printed at each stop along the way. The GA typed something into the computer each time, and I was able to board without any problem. Not sure what happened, but I haven't had the same issue since then.
