Buy AA Miles Promo, up to 30,000 bonus miles, 1.83 cpm
Just saw this on AA.com, seems to be a pretty solid deal to buy AA miles.

Ran the numbers and you can buy 60,000 miles for $1,650 and get another 30,000 bonus for a total of 90,000 for $1,650...works out to 1.83 cpm (not counting any miles you'd earn on whatever CC you purchase them with). Seems to me to be the cheapest offer, at least that I've ever seen, to buy miles from AA outright. I'm usually not a big fan of just buying miles for the sake of buying them but at this price, I think it may well be worth it for some people.

$1808.75 after tax and transaction fee, so the total cost is 2 cents per mile. Comparable to previous promotions, e.g.:

If my calc is correct, CPM for 60,000+30,000 will be 2.01.(after 7.5% tax + $35 fee)

1.93 cpm if you have a AA miles earning credit card (double miles on aa purchases) or 1.89 cpm if you are getting an extra mile per $ because of the threat of cancelation.

I'm pretty sure the transaction is processed by points.com, thus not qualifying for double miles on AA purchases.

Pretty good deal. $1650 for a longhaul U seat (90k+10k from your account). Or a nice dent of miles toward a longhaul Z seat.
Of course, the one major disadvantage is that if you BOUGHT a longhaul J ticket for $1650 cash (which is not unheard of in this day and age), you would earn EQMs/RDMs/COSBonus/segments for those flights. Buy buying the miles, all you earn are 2,063 RDMs from the purchase, assuming you use the Starwood AMEX (1.25 miles per dollar).

Anybody bit the promo for 60+30? That's almost enough for 4 North American awards, $400+ a piece - not too shabby for rainy days... or even 2xNRT.

I tend to use miles for F/J awards, and with AA's recent discounting this becomes much less of a good deal. For example, LAX-BOS in F is about $550 each way; buying and using miles would be $450 each way with no accrual of EQM/RDM. I think it actually makes more sense to buy the tickets outright!
