Members posting in this thread in the WestJet | WestJet Rewards forum say it has taken 3~4 days for miles to post, but some say they do not post without intervention up to 50% of the time.
Ready2Go lists more on OLCI and seat selection below in Post 11.

AA and WS expands relationship to earn miles on eligible fares
http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/ea...es/westjet.jsp
Valid for flights on/after June 27, 2012
Economy Class Y, V, B, Q, L, M, P, G, X, D 100% RDM
Not as great as AS' EQM eligibilities but any way to earn miles intra-Canada (i.e. YVR-YYC) or more direct flights from the US to Canada (i.e. LAX-YYC) is a good thing. ^

OLCI and seat selection on WestJet codeshares?
AA cannot allocate seats on Westjet codeshares. WestJet charges for advance seat selection (though only $5-15), with open selection at OLCI 24 hours before departure.
I have got my booking reference from WestJet, but does anyone have experience of whether this can be used for OLCI (together with seat selection) on the WestJet site?

WS-non earning fares
For anyone using WS to earn AA miles:
I searched for a flight to the US using a TA.
The TA went on skylinkcanada.com
The flight that I wanted to the US was in S class (but it was cheaper than AA by $19!)
So, make sure to check booking class!
(Unfortunately I can't see bkg class on WS.com)

These are the eligible fare codes for WS flights:
WestJet Eligible Fare Codes
If it's an AA Code Share flight with an AA flight number booked through AA, you earn the same miles etc. as if it had been an AA flight.

I am probably going to need to go to YEG later this year. Do I understand this correctly that as long as I book the WS flights as a AA codeshare, I will get EQMs? Or is that only true of the LAX-YEG flight?

The WestJet booking reference is not the same as the AA locator, but any AA phone agent can provide it.
