I'm just trying to imagine the howls of anguish we'd be hearing on this forum if United had made a similar offering to AA or DL elites...oh, the devaluation!!!

Man, I wish I could jump on this. Living 5 miles from EWR, though - I'm stuck with UA. To switch to AA would mean adding ~3 hours to every trip just to get to JFK and back. No thanks
With the 7th SFO-ORD frequency, you can't even complain about the Bay Area route cuts anymore.
Yeah, but still no 763.
That is what put me over the top and just completed the email. Today was supposed to be a 3 Class sfo- ord and used a rpu. Could not check in yesterday because they switched to a 2class. Downgraded back to coach and tried for cpu. At 9pm 17 of the 34 seats were avail per united mobile and ended up in Y 8th on the list.

If they were truly smart (and had, you know, actual visionary leadership) they would have done it at some point in the merger process...could have talked up the "biggest in the world" status, pointed out flaws in other programs, how much better MP is (or at least was), attracted dissatisfied high-value elites, etc.
Programs: Somewhat disillusioned UA flyer after 24 loyal years. 1K. Now at 820,000 lifetime miles. AA EXP

Done and done! Took 1 phone call and a request to the reservations agent to transfer me over to Aadvantage customer service, but from there it took 1 minute.
Sent off the proof. Now I'm waiting for this to kick in.
Haven't flown AA in more than 20 years. But this is certainly giving me a reason to do so.
I don't think so, they already have their excuses lined up and out on the street. Plus, they probably have reasonable (or at least acceptable) excuses to blame the loss on. I think Q2 will be more telling. If a lot of high fare elites have moved their business elsewhere, it should be apparent in their RPM growth - or lack thereof. Then they will see if their TOD's for the masses is enough to offset the paid C/F business that went other places.
