Did I miss something? Or do you know something that is going to happen? AA to HKG?

Wait until they merge with US, you will be back to UA

Not impressed with what UA is doing right now but more scared with what will happen to AAdvantage once US gets in there.

Man, I wish I could jump on this. Living 5 miles from EWR, though - I'm stuck with UA. To switch to AA would mean adding ~3 hours to every trip just to get to JFK and back. No thanks

Yeah, but still no 763.
That is what put me over the top and just completed the email. Today was supposed to be a 3 Class sfo- ord and used a rpu. Could not check in yesterday because they switched to a 2class. Downgraded back to coach and tried for cpu. At 9pm 17 of the 34 seats were avail per united mobile and ended up in Y 8th on the list.

If they were truly smart (and had, you know, actual visionary leadership) they would have done it at some point in the merger process...could have talked up the "biggest in the world" status, pointed out flaws in other programs, how much better MP is (or at least was), attracted dissatisfied high-value elites, etc.

Too late now.

The picture of my card is sufficient enough? Took less than 5 minutes to call an agent, receive the email, take a picture of my card and send it out.

Done and done! Took 1 phone call and a request to the reservations agent to transfer me over to Aadvantage customer service, but from there it took 1 minute.

Sent off the proof. Now I'm waiting for this to kick in.

Haven't flown AA in more than 20 years. But this is certainly giving me a reason to do so.

Took all of 1 minute to do. I will be booking my next ticket on AA and see how it goes.

Done. I still wonder if we will get the SWUs (eVIPs?).

Seeking Advice

I already ended-up booking some non-cancellable Z fares on SQ/TG/LH for a bunch of my late 2012 travel this year, but I am still very interested.

Just how good is the SWU program for AA? Do they have RPUs also?

I don't think so, they already have their excuses lined up and out on the street. Plus, they probably have reasonable (or at least acceptable) excuses to blame the loss on. I think Q2 will be more telling. If a lot of high fare elites have moved their business elsewhere, it should be apparent in their RPM growth - or lack thereof. Then they will see if their TOD's for the masses is enough to offset the paid C/F business that went other places.
