Just placed my very first order from AAdvantage EShopping. A Sony Camera from Sony Style. Clicked on the link thru the AAdvantage website, but at no time did I receive any type of acknowledgment that alluded that I had clicked thru the AAdvantage website.
I really want to make sure I will be receiving my 1500 or so points. Is this normal?

Yes, your experience is normal. There is no acknowledgement. Just heed the warning to make sure that once you have been redirected from AA eShopping, you don't leave the merchant's site until your transaction is completed. I have found that virtually all of my purchases have indeed been properly credited, in the next monthly statement cycle.

Has anyone figured out a rhyme or reason to 1) when your click-throughs are reflected on the homepage under the "previously viewed" column and 2) how long it takes for a purchase to show up as pending?
I've found that it takes about 8-10 days for the transactions to show up as "pending" in your account.
I had 4 transactions during the month of March, that seemed to be the timeline.
Now my problem is figuring out when they go from "Pending" to being creditted to my AAdvantage account. I thought it would be at the start of the new month, but there haven't been any changes yet. Since March to April is also a quarterly rollover, I guess that throery is out the window too.
I'd be more concerned that you shopped at Sony Style. I had two very bad experiences with them and will never use them again. They've also had a few BBB complaints.
For many of the retails, it is said "gift card purchases are not eligible for rewards" or so. My understanding is that for sure if you buy gift card of these retailers through AA eshopping links, you won't get AA miles. But how about if I buy some merchandise and pay with gift card? Will I get AA miles? Thanks.
I've found that the movement from Pending to Confirmed (when the miles show up on my AA account) seem to be based on the date of the tran... I have seen my miles confirmed @ 45 days after I made my purchase...
Let me know if that seems like how it works for you...maybe my logic works!
It depends on the merchant. For drugstore.com, no. For Petco, yes. (In my experience)

I just spoke with a representative at the the AAdvantage customer service desk regarding another matter, but she brought up the subject of the Eshopping site. After some discussion she mentioned that American was aware of complaints with the response time for their partner (Veridia) to post to customers accounts rather than sitting in pending status. She mentioned that there were efforts underway to pressure the company to be more aggressive in fully processing and posting points to AAdvantage members accounts.
This was the closest I could find to a definitive thread on eShopping so hopefully this is the right topic.
I just had a nice chunk of miles post from eShopping (over 4000) and was happy to see an experiment worked. I bought my wife a laptop from Office Depot and clicked thru to the OD website from Bing to get the cashback. Then, while that tab was open, I went to AA Shopping, logged in and clicked through to OD. I finalized my purchase on the tab started with Bing (believe it or not, I was more interested in saving some money but thought I'd see if I could score a 2 for 1) and did in-store pick-up on the laptop.
Fast forward to a couple days ago when the shopping miles posted. I was happy to see 1500 miles in my account from this OD plus I saved $35 using Bing. So, while Bing is about to die, if you use Bing & eShopping you might have some luck doubling up like this too.

Which browser did you use? (I'm surprised you clicked through Bing first and not AA Shopping first. I thought the last click would determine the reward.) Thanks.

Firefox.
I left the first tab opened (with the click thru from Bing) and then opened a 2nd tab with a click thru from AA shopping. I finalized the purchase on the first tab. So my rationale was at the least I'd get the cashback from Bing. I got the e-mail from Bing right away. I forgot to login to AA shopping to see if it worked and had no idea until the miles hit my account.
With another month left before Bing dies I just might try this a few more times.
I just saw the Gap promotion (10 miles per dollar) and ordered a few necessities. However, the pending miles on my account indicate that I'm just going to be given 3 miles per dollar. Anyone know if the amount pending ever changes before it posts?
