No more red blanket or pillow on Domestic flights (by May 2010)
As of May 1, 2010, American Airlines will no longer provide complimentary blankets or pillows on domestic flights (coach). Packs of pillow/blanket will be sold on flights over 2 hours, in conjunction with the food for sale program. As an AA flight attendant, this is a DREAM COME TRUE. Any thoughts?
I actually thought they'd already done away with these in coach a while ago. I don't recall having them the few times we've flown in coach. Is this really new, or am I mis-remembering?

Cheers.
I thought the same. The only flights that I've seen them on in coach were the long redeye flights.

I did a double-take on the date of the OP--I, too, thought that they had done away with the blankets and most certainly the pillows. Alas, I didn't have to "suffer" too often in the back of the plane last year , so maybe I remember just a trial-balloon announcement.

If that's the case, are the FAs going to stop Y passengers from grabbing them out of the front? Seen it happen.
My thoughts exactly. Unless the FAs will now hand them out to F passengers after boarding is complete? I still want and expect them in F. I often use them on my legs during flights (I don't put them near my face, but even in jeans, my legs and feet can get cold)

I do not like the news at all. I love to have the blankets. They do not put on every seat. But up to now. I always can find them either in the front or the back luggage compartment. I like to store my coat and use the blanket to keep me warm

Why is this dream come true for an AA flight attendant?
