AA331 MIA-KIN crash landing / runway overrun (Dec 22, 2009) - injuries, no fatalities

Anyone have more info on flight 331 that crashed tonight? The official word I saw is no injuries or fatalities. Having a hard time finding info.

EDIT: Seems AA has retracted that no injury post.

Flt 331 was carrying 145 pax and 7 crew.. Thankfully, no injuries or deaths have been reported for those onboard.

Update 11:40pm CT: Jamaica Observer now reports 40 injured from the flight.

Was it one of the new 737s?

My thoughts and wishes are with all the passengers and crew in hopes that everyone is indeed safe and uninjured.

I heard about it from a post from AA on Facebook. Talk about viral news... they were reporting it there before CNN has the story up.

Reports are its a 738.

One news source has quotes from one of the pax. This is a good sign that people walked away. I am hoping that there are no fatalities.

As far as I can tell, it was N977AN (ACARSD), built 2001 (rzjets.net), so not one of the new ones.

If the eyewitness report is accurate, the break was somewhere between Economy and Business (First).

Let's hope that everyone is, indeed, ok.

Here's a brief Fox report -- heavily pulled from the previously posted Jamaica Observer article, I think.

I posted the FLIFO of AA331. It was running late for an hour at Miami.

ABC News is reporting the plane came to a complete stop without any injuries.
