Not all of the preferred seats are great but they provide a great way for elites not to get stuck in the middle (and sit closer to the front of the cabin) even if they book very soon before flying. While I tend to select ER seats in Y, I choose preferred seats near the front on short flights because it's more important to get off the plane early.
Row 13 is marked as preferred seating(except seat A), but isn't row 13 just in front of the exit row and the seats don't recline?
I was in 13D a few weeks ago, flying from ORD, on the 160 seat version of the 738. Row 13 was right in front of an exit row but the seat had full recline (and the cushion slides forward as the seat back tilts).
This is especially true on the 762 with the seats right next to the galley. Some of the worst seats on the plane. But I suppose they are closer to the jet bridge.
Full recline??? I thought exit row seats were undesirable on the 738??? Also, usually on the first row doesn't recline as it would impede the exit door. The back row only impedes the people behind them, which ofcourse is better than blocking air!!! :P
