Bid Miles for Prizes / Rewards - Overpriced

AA is running a promo with "Up in the Air"
Bid miles for prizes (e.g. Soundtrack, 2 SWU, Gold Status, etc)

I can't believe someone is willing to pay (at least) 1500 miles for a CD or 76,000 miles for 2 SWU.

76k miles for 2 SWU seems like a pretty good deal to me. Consider that it is normally 25k + copay to upgrade. If the high bidder is thinking about using the SWU on upgrade to India, which is 40k + copay, this is still very much a steal (all calculation per SWU).

What are your thoughts on it's worth, miles wise?

Correct,

but 50 million probably have no idea what is going on
9 million could care less
900k are just trying to get to 25K miles for a free domestic trip to mom house
10K would never have need for a SWU
