'Goodbye, America West' party slated for Tuesday

This sidebar was to the New US Airways Set to Fly article in today's Arizona Republic.

'Goodbye, America West' party

This free event is for employees and the public.

What: Displays of America West memorabilia, a video retrospective, children's activities, popcorn, cotton candy, music and games.

When: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday

Where: America West headquarters, 111 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe

Why: America West will merge with US Airways next week, and the new airline will be called US Airways.

I wish I could go...I have to work though. I finally get weekends off and I can never go to any functions..LOL Go figure.

Not a HP flyer, but interested in the history-making element as a PHX local.

At any rate, we should have another PHX area get-together. There weren't many of you at the Mileage Run seminar in August when over 20 folks from out of town came in.

Would LOVE to have another PHX area get together! Just moved down here from SEA in July. Formerly from MSP. Saw your MR Seminar posted after the fact and I was bummed I didn't go!

Sounds good. Perhaps a quick refresher now that we have US flights and hubs? It looks like I will be busy over the next few months if I want to get to CP for next year.
