Question Where to Sit? C Class to NRT???

Flying NH C class for the first time with my wife in the Fall...

BOS-IAD-NRT-ITM
NRT-ORD-BOS

...searched previous threads and couldn't find exact seat # reccos for new configuration. The whole C cabin is pretty much open. Where should we sit? I booked the first row for now...is there anything bad about the bulkhead area?

Thanks!

The mini C cabin is my preference. I always choose row 3 bulkhead on the 777.

Agree row 3 window + aisle

Next would be 15 (left side only)

Thanks

Thanks to yycworldtraveler and JackR's advice, I was able to snag 3AC for Mrs. BizClsDreaming and myself ORD-NRT after booking yesterday (they initially had us in 12AC). Can't wait for the trip (Oct 09)
Hopefully I can do the same on the return.
Thanks again for all the great FT advice.

It depends if you prefer to be on the sunny side. There is no real difference between port or starboard.

I think most people prefer the "minicabin". I sat in 5D last month IAD-NRT. I prefer row 5 because it's not the bulkhead and there's no one sitting behind you. I also prefer an aisle in the middle 3 section because there's a greater chance of an empty seat next to you and if you want to sleep there's less chance anyone will need to climb over you. But if you are traveling as a pair I suppose that is moot. There's really not much difference which side you choose. The shades are down for most of the flight anyway.

I think they tend to assign Japanese CA on A/C side.

Sorry. I don't understand CA? Is that the crew? If so, should I choose other side as I don't want to get bumped from our seats?

CA means Cabin Attendant, they have their own cabin upstairs, and an airline would never bump a revenue passenger for crew. People seem to prefer rows 3 and 5, or the 'mini' cabin right behind first.

Just booked C award R/T LAX->NRT for February and used this thread (along with the ever-useful seatguru.com) as a guide for seat selection, picked 3K on the way out and 3A on the way back.

Surprisingly, both were open, while most seats in the middle of the section were taken.

In any event, thanks to everyone who posted information, it was a great help.
