NH will be adding Taiwanese CAs on flights to and from Taiwan from Aug 12 2012. This is to better serve the Taiwanese passengers because of their familiarity to the language and culture. Taiwanese CAs will be available on the following flights
This is puzzling? At Air Japan, flights 1083 and 1084, we already have a Taiwanese CA on board and have had for as long as I can remember. Did these flights not have that when flown by ANA crews?

Did you mean the in-flight service assistant? I believe they are different from CAs. This service will be discontinued on Aug 10.
Ah, ok. I always just considered them as another CA. I hope they will be given an opportunity to interview as CA's. There were some nice girls that worked that job.
in fact, the current Inflight Service Assistants will be re-trained as Cabin Attendant.
And they are going to hire a new batch of Taiwanese Crew in September.
I wonder why they dont have HK cabin crew as they operate more than 4-5 flights out of HKG everyday. Last time on my NH909 a Japanese man sitting next to me asking a Shanghai crew where is AIA Building and how to get to his hotel in Cyberport. She had no clue at all....

NH has five flights from HKG (NH910/912/1172 to TYO, NH1242 to NGO, and NH176 to KIX), which is indeed more than TPE/TSA, BKK, and SIN. Perhaps NH can't find enough CAs fluent in both Japanese and Cantonese to work for the wages they are willing to pay?

Actually you forgot the daily KIX and NGO flights from HKG. Does NH operate flights to Taiwan from cities other than TYO?

You're right! Shows you how much I fly in and out of Japan via cities other than TYO (i.e. not very).
NH's only flights to Taiwan are from TYO; they codeshare with BR to/from KIX, CTS, NGO, FUK, SDJ, and KMQ. There are NH or BR flights between KHH and Japan.

The only ANA international flights outside TYO are to mainland China, HKG and ICN (and if you want to count it, the seasonal Kyushu stop on the NRT-BOM flight).
At least as of right now there are no KHH flights listed in the ANA timetable, not even codeshares.

I was a bit surprised by that, seeing as how JL operates a KHH-NRT flight, but JL and CI have a lock on that route so I guess there's no one to codeshare with.

You meant how JAL deploys their most outdated planes on KHH-NRT?

I think you mean Japanese and Cantonese.
