Just got an email from SEA about this. Says that plans are still for flights to shift to the 788 'in late 2012'.

Will be interesting to see how the heavy J configuration on the 77W works for them, and how long they will take to go from C85Y162 to C46Y112.

UA surely can't be too happy about this.

C85 and Y162 fit with the old Club ANA layout on a 777; meaning they are selling 8 F seats as C, and the PY as Y? Guess this is just one of the spares they have rather than from expanding the routes flown by new configuration 77W?

Ooooh. I think getting to NRT via SEA on *A award is going to be really easy for a while.

I hope this eventually means the end of UA on this route.

The fares are loaded into the ANA system.

Seems pricey though.

But wouldn't you want to fly on UA metal since you are a 2P?

From 25JUL12 to 21AUG12, NRT SEA operated by 77W with ANA Business Class Staggered (C60Y202).

From 22AUG12, service operates by normal 777-300ER (777) with Club ANA Seats C85Y162.

F sold as C, PY sold as Y (the 77W does not have PY)

Long story short I am flying to Seattle then flying the Seattle-Tokyo route in Business in December. Any comments on what it is going to be like (especially weather, airport lounge, and possible delays during the winter) because I have never flown through Seattle before or on Ana for that matter.

Interesting. I guess they don't want to launch a new route with old style seating, that wouldn't look good in the media and not help to persuade flyers to switch.
As they don't have any spare 77W, that means either they are converting a new one that will then go on other routes after 21st Aug, or they are temporarily substituting one from routes currently using the latest layouts.

I've flown several times a year from SEA to Asia since I moved to SEA in 2008. Only had one serious weather delay in that time. Weather in December is usually above freezing and snow around the city (including the airport) is rare and if it appears melts very quickly.

ANA doesnt have a lounge or any other presence here now that I know of. As a member of * Alliance I assume you'll have access to the UA club. UA club is serviceable and quiet but no big shakes.

I'm a bit envious as I'd love to fly ANA especially when the start the 787 service.

Have a great flight!

Does this mean 8 first squares are being sold as C when the 77W is running that route?
