AP flights after December 1: Millemiglia or *A?

Does anyone know whether the "new" AZ will credit Millemiglia miles or *A miles for AP flights after December 1?
Since AP and AZ end up in CAI, can they keep 2 competitor FFPs?

I imagine it'll be business as usual for the moment. Integration is never immediate. I can imagine the switch to MilleMiglia will come when the name switches from Air One to Alitalia.

Also remember AP is not part of *A, which means I can't earn miles on AP with my BD card.

The question is, will existing M&M members be allowed to transfer their miles to MilleMiglia eventually?

The contracts between AP and LH should expire next March.

I think that everything depends on the foreign partner:

- if the partner is be AF-KLM, AP will accredit *A miles until March and then CAI will have only the MilleMiglia program (SkyTeam);

- if the partner is LH, CAI will become a *A company. CAI shouldn't pay any penalty to SkyTeam because between the old Alitalia and the new CAI there is discontinuity (they are two different companies).

Actually, my post was misleading
Indeed, the question could be "what happens if you book on AZ-CAI and get bumped on AP-CAI flight during the 'transition' period? Will you get miles on Skyteam FFPs"?

I'm interested on what's going on till Dec 31, since a need some 1x00 miles to retain GM with DL, I'll fly long-haul on Oneworld and will have only a couple of domestic trips that I could fly on AZ flights.
I'd like to avoid a mileage run for that. Close to holidays, it could turn very expensive.
After that, CAI could even collapse .

The latter depends on whether CAI has assumed the old Alitalia's SkyTeam contract.

Yes. Original routing credit.

What about AP codeshare tickets?

I'm aware of people booked several months ahead on AP tickets on codeshares operated by *A partners, such as Croatian, or UA to meet AP transatlantic. Any indication whether these tickets will be honored if AP is part of the new AZ? And for that matter, whether the AP TATL (ORD-MXP, and BOS-MXP resuming in spring) will operate as showing?

For all flyers that still want to fly CAI/AZ/AP and then get stranded in some airport a few hours before Christmas

AP/AZ has published info on mileage accrual on their AP flights.
Only in the Italian version of the AP website.

Effective from Jan 13:

a) You can earn M&M qualifying miles - or Eurobonus, Aeroplan, Mileage Plus, Dividend qualifying miles - on flights with AP code and AP equipment*

b) You can't earn M&M qualifying miles - or Eurobonus, Aeroplan, Mileage Plus, Dividend qualifying miles - on AP flights with AP code and AZ equipment*

c) You can earn Millemiglia miles on all AZ/AP flights, except those AP codeshares operated by AP partners**

* EQMs on AP flights? That's new for me. For the few flights that I flew on AP, I've earned only miles, not EQMs

**They didn't state if other Skyteam FFs can earn/redeem miles on AP coded and/or operated flights

I hope either AZ or AP clarifies that soon... It's a pretty major issue for most ST FFs who have booked AZ flights which will now likely be replaced by AP coded and/or operated flights...

And the foreign partner is...
