That would be disappointing, but with CO joining *A, it's not a surprise

Hang in there. I don't think this one's substantiated.

Official end of frequent flyer partnerships is October 25, 2009.
Codeshare partnership will end on September 23, 2009.
It's happening.

I really thought this information was already out there. I heard it this morning in conversation.
I am surprised others hadn't heard this.
Wow, I never have new news to report...

If true, I'm not surprised, since AS has never partnered with any Star Alliance airline. I just hadn't heard anything official about this yet.
The lack of EQMs on CO flights always made the CO partnership slightly pointless for me anyway.

We hear a lot "in conversation." Doesn't mean it's true.

Go to
Continental.com and try booking a one-way EWR to ANC.
Next time do a little research before you post such mis-information.

As an employee, its probably a good idea to wait until you've seen something in writing to believe its true.. and a better idea to make sure that whats in writing is meant for public consumption. Just sayin'
That being said.. it is true. Official announcement from both carriers will be on Friday.
Last day to earn or redeem miles for Continental flights is October 24, 2009.

Can you enlighten us as to whether this change was pushed for more by AS or CO?
I would assume CO (or the Star Alliance folks) made this decision given Alaska's rather promiscuous partnership strategy.
