That's an interesting promotion. I got a unique discount cert number when AS canceled service between OAK-SNA and thought the certs were pretty cool. I had saved my ecert in my list of discount codes for when I wanted to use it.
It would be nice if there were contests or promotions on Alaskaair.com where you could win an ecert discount for future travel. I remember a few years ago, NWA sent out a discount code with their Worldperks mileage email for a discount and of course I ended up using it!
I signed up for their emails when this promotion appeared in the summer.
