Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM)

I was reading a few threads, and I am hoping I am missing something here, but do all purchased tickets at Alaskaair.com - regardless of the class - qualify for EQM ?

It appeared in a comment that the lowest price "hot deals" don't anymmore, and I didnt think that was the case.

I think the key word is "purchased". I think that any tickets purchased at alaskaair.com accrue mileage. Now of course there is the case of the AS50 (or AS20 or AS25 ) - they accrue less mileage but as there is money involved, you do get some miles.

Like Dave said any fare purchased at AS gets full miles. Paid First class gets an extra 50% EQM and the AS25 you lose 50% EQMs I shouldve copyrighted AS25 Essentially its a 20K or 25K award disguised as 15K given that they keep half the miles you fly on top of the 15K. AS money and miles...you pay money we keep the miles. If anything give me miles based upon the percentage of discount so when I go to EWR from ANC and $250 only gets me 10% discount then I should get 90% of the miles

One of the things I like about Alaska is that they don't play games with EQMs as many carriers do (ASXX program notwithstanding). It seems like many carriers do, particularly on international flights.

One game I wish they would play is an EQM bonus for full flex fares, as some other carriers offer.

I agree except on some of the carriers any old Joe can also upgrade on these full Y fares if space is available which would dilute the U bucket even more, like DL's A class fare

Most that offer upgrades for full Y fares to non-status passengers only do so after all elites have been upgraded first.

On CO an elite OnePass member who buys a full Y when there is space available in FC in any revenue bucket (unlike AS where there has to be U) will be immediately upgraded in addition to 150% EQMs. Also non-status on CO with a Y fare gets priority bag tags and priority boarding with elites. However CO also plays the fare-bucket game when it comes to EQMs on the lowest fares and with partners. It kinda sucks that before buying any ticket on a partner airline I have to double check that I will get 100% EQMs if I really need them.

It seems many of you Flyertalk folks use Continental. I always avoid them as there are no EQMs on Alaska. I would hope with CO changing groups that might change????

One of two things may happen with the AS/CO relationship after CO enters *A. The relationship will either end or remain as is which still means 0 EQMs for CO flights credited to AS MP.
