Given the short window to purchase tickets, wonder how many will end up on eBay or Craigslist.

Wow. I hadn't noticed that at first. 3 days!

Yup. My first thought was "wow, that's going to cost AS a ton of money and capacity", but with a three day purchase window most will not get used.

Hi -

I am guessing 50% off on a MR in early November or December 5-15. The cheap MR fares for 2018 won't be out by then.

Similar thing happened in Seattle last year. I'm surprised that this offer isn't limited to just flights going out of the Bay Area.

Do you happen to know if the VX one is similarly restricted (to Y cabin only)?

According to the T&Cs, discount provides 50% off coach fares for 2, but does not otherwise mention class of service.

However upgrades are permitted

It kills me to be flying out that day - may have to see if I can find one on ebay though 72-hour expiration is no doubt meant to discourage.
