I'd expect that a few months' out, as it seems like most if all VX flights are going to 1xxx flight numbering.

It seems like this is a major mistake to not recognize AS elites... give reciprocal status to AS elites or some kind of way on an intranet to verify status--they're just being cheap if you ask me-they didn't want to put the time and energy in to any of this. I've had struggles just getting a seat period because of this 'half the plane is a paid upgrade' thing. It just makes me think 'add VX to the avoid unless desperate' list. Petty stuff like this for elites doesn't seem like this would be a great way to launch a merger.

VX interior lighting is way too dark. Hard to see things sometimes. The purple looks fun but not practical.

VX safety video is dangerous. If you can't read fast or don't have your glasses, you can't see the subtitles, which are required to really understand the message. They also show you very bad practices, like inflating the vests inside the aircraft.

If you are cheap, VX entertainment is hit and miss, depending on what's on free TV.

VX lacks a magazine, which makes a boring flight if the entertainment is bad.

On the other hand, VX flight attendants are younger and better looking. They aren't nicer, though.

I don't know if VX has the 20 minute baggage guarantee.

VX aisles seem a bit wider and easier to walk through.

Even though I'm a fan of VX, these are all legit points that I agree with.

As of earlier this month AS status can be recognised on VX sabre. If you're 75k there should be a G75 printed somewhere near the top in small print in place of GLD or SLV for VX elites. I don't know if this change allows you to book preferred seats for free yet but the framework is getting there and the official designation helps with op-ups and such.

brettsir,

That is one of the steps towards integrating benefits... so a good sign!

I've been avoiding VX as much as I can flying out of MCO; AS seems to keep wanting me to fly VX via LAX for many connections. Sadly my next trip is on the widget.

So what would the designation be for an AS Gold?

Dont quote me but I'd imagine GLD or MGL? Only seen G75 and MVP so can't confirm AS gold.

Good sign.

Booked my first VX flight with a companion pass LAX-LAS.

No priority seating seemed accessible...seatmap did not change with or without my MP# entered.

Since this is a wishlist thread... I used a GGUC on my ANC-LAX... I'd like this to apply to the LAX-LAS VX flight too

Would love to see the rope used and heavily enforced to separate F from coach

That would require a variance from AS' FAA inspector(s) right?

New addition:

I'm really liking the VX baggage fees for anything over 2 bags. Taking advantage of that tomorrow!

Flying Florida - Juneau via VX -- checking 6 bags; 4 bags x $25 each. Maybe will do 7 if I can get a friend to meet me at the airport with his truck.

FedEx is $70 per box.

If I did this on my beloved Alaska with a 2 hour layover in Seattle, I'd be looking at $300 for the 4 extra.

Bumping this.

Flew FLL-LAX today next to a "super" Gold Elevate flyer. The tray tables can be swing out, and can be rotated upward to hold your ipads, iphones, androids, and tablets to view. There is a little kick-stand on the side of the tray table that also opens up a slot on the bottom 1/3rd that holds the tablet/phone. Pics posted on the Alaska MVP Gold 75K Facebook group, for some reason they won't post here. Also on Instagram - search for #turnleftorturnaround and #lifeofaroadwarrior .

>_<

** whimper ** missy - do you know if the new "new" Alaska seats will have these?
