Bulkhead Confusion
Seems like AS will keep us on our toes in determining which AC have adequate legroom in the bulkhead seats and which are notoriously tight. Aside from the historic bad reputation of the FC bulkhead leg room some reports of the new config AC praise the FC bulkhead legroom. I'm hoping that some AS elites can assist in sorting it out. (I tried to find a thread that discusses "Where to sit on the various AC but was unsuccessful)
This Oct I'm scheduled transcon SJC-EWR AS786 showing a 737-800, Rows 1-3 FC, rows 6-31/32 Main Cabin (exit rows 16/17) I prefer the FC bulkhead if there is enough legroom to straighten out my legs at least as much as rows 2, 3, etc.
Final comment: A few days ago Expert Flyer seat map showed 4 rows in first and didn't populate the Main Cabin but noted an AC change may occur.
Thanks for your assistance in helping me determine if this AC has decent bulkhead seat legroom and if one side is better than the other.

Unless its a 737-400 or 737-700
3 rows of F = good legroom in bulkhead
4 rows of F = bad legroom in bulkhead (737-900 will have good legroom but re-config not completed)
All 737-800 have 3 rows in F with good legroom. Sounds like possible swap to 737-900 and those have not all been configured yet with extra legroom in F

All 800's have been reconfigured and have the larger space in row 1 so no issues unless they swap aircraft. If the swap is to a 900/900ER aircraft, they are currently being reconfigured now and a majority should be done by Oct. If the swap is to a 700 aircraft, they are in the old configuration. I would say highly unlikely they swap to a 700/900/900ER.

Thank you CDKing and Bay Area Blue. That helps. I'll grab a couple of bulkhead seats that are open now and create an AC change alert in EF. No immunity from last minute swaps
Are starboard and port the same?

First, make sure device is chaRged before boarding. Load own movies and do not depend on AS to provide what is "mostly" promised.
We are now flying VX F when we can.

Actually, they aren't. The bulkhead wall on the A/C side doesn't extend as far toward the aisle as the one on the D/F side. I always sit in 1C because it's easier and more comfortable to extend my legs (when the aisle is clear) from that seat than it is from 1D.

You are correct, was being more specific about the typical distance between the seat and the bulkhead.
