I would consider it from SEA if the price wasn't so much higher. The +100% bonus for flying J is always nice; SEA-JFK-LAX-SYD in J one-way would earn around 43k miles. The SEA-LAX-SYD flight I did on AA a few weeks ago only earned me 23k miles, but it was half the price of flying QF (and QF via JFK was an extra 1k on top of that).

Local traffic is not allowed on the QF flights to/from JFK and LAX. So, I'm not sure how someone could accomplish that routing in your scenario unless they were continuing on all the way to Australia. However, a passenger can easily fly AS (VX) JFK-LAX and connect to a Australia-bound QF flight.

Wouldn't it be cool if AS could sell seats on that flight? Kinda like when Braniff offered domestic Concorde travel.

Well that was a wet lease situation, right?

Yes, and operated at subsonic speeds.

The Concorde was a great ride when the adjacent seat was unoccupied. When it was occupied, it was a bit of a tight ride.

I'd rather be in T4 where I can at least "enjoy" the Priority Pass lounge than in T7, where the current option would be the "Salon du Tile Floor (or Rancid Carpet - not sure - haven't been there in ages).

I should have put a smiley after that. It looked to me like T4 is better. Glad to hear it is the case.

I agree....moving from a Priority Pass terminal (T4) to a no Priority Pass terminal (T7) is not a good thing in my book. The next time I pass through JFK on VX, I have a long enough connection that I should have time to run over to the AF lounge using PP.

I've experienced Rancid Carpet and recommend "Salon du Tile Floor". M&M stores would be better time spent.

That there's supposed to be one in the future...

Which opens first- JFK, SFO, or a revamped PDX?

I'm sure it will be a LONG time before JFK gets an Alaska Lounge....I think Priority Pass folks like me just need to memorize the path (and how long it takes) to get to the AF lounge.
