Based on the announcement, it sounds like Alaska Beyond streaming will still be available on E175s, but perhaps the movies won't be free (after March) since they specified that they would be free only on Boeing and Airbus aircraft."... our plan is for our E175s to have this available as well."
I love it when a plan comes together, but for now, insofar as this particular matter is concerned, I would hold my love in reserve.

Get a window seat.
In the PNW the IFE is a nature show right outside your window.
And the Q flies low enough that you might be able to pick up a Wifi signal with a Pringles cantenna from a Starbucks in the flight path...

We are dinosaurs and we have only one lame ipad that we got "free" so you can imagine how powerful it is. We tried downloading whatever we needed to do to get the movies, but it didn't work.
Do you have to do it BEFORE you take off while you are still on the ground?
I hope they don't get rid of the digiplayers, some of us when we fly do still use them.

I'm an aisle seater so the show outside doesn't really matter most of the time.
I think you do have to download it before. It's just Gogo Entertanment app for iPhone/iPad. I'm not sure if you need a Gogo account with the movies being free now but I believe you can do that in the air if it is needed.
