"... our plan is for our E175s to have this available as well."

I love it when a plan comes together, but for now, insofar as this particular matter is concerned, I would hold my love in reserve.

It's fine. if you are on Android you need to install an app, and can do so from the air.

You always have the option of downloading your own selection at home and bringing it along.

I really enjoyed 'The accountant' & 'The Martian' every time I've watched them on AS.

How about free text messaging?

Was/is also a nice feature, although it only works in the continental US.

Get a window seat.

In the PNW the IFE is a nature show right outside your window.

And the Q flies low enough that you might be able to pick up a Wifi signal with a Pringles cantenna from a Starbucks in the flight path...

On topic, I am happy with the free movie offering. I (for now) always travel wth an iPad.

We are dinosaurs and we have only one lame ipad that we got "free" so you can imagine how powerful it is. We tried downloading whatever we needed to do to get the movies, but it didn't work.

Do you have to do it BEFORE you take off while you are still on the ground?

I hope they don't get rid of the digiplayers, some of us when we fly do still use them.

I'm an aisle seater so the show outside doesn't really matter most of the time.

I think you do have to download it before. It's just Gogo Entertanment app for iPhone/iPad. I'm not sure if you need a Gogo account with the movies being free now but I believe you can do that in the air if it is needed.

We have a flight coming up as well so I poked around a bit. Found this in the FAQ:

Do I need the Gogo Entertainment App?

You'll only need it if you plan to rent a TV show or movie. Free content doesn't require the app.

There's some more info here:

What you linked said you could access it once you reach 10,000 feet. I swear the card in the seat back pocket said you had to do something or other before you take off. We'll check/ask on our next flight. But thanks.
