Sign was out at SEA D terminal when I left at 9:30. My flight is delayed 2 hours so I moved to Club at SEA. The desk attendant confirmed they are extending their hours and added that they will be expanding food offerings as well. She said they've seen a definite increase in traffic since the AL started restricting access.

What card was paid for? Nobody who paid for a membership has been denied.

I paid $450 for my Amex Plat and access to PP lounges is a benefit of that card. I also paid $450 for my CSR and it is a benefit of that card as well.

I am not saying that access to a particular club at any time is what I paid for, but your derogative post about people who pay for a certain product and have a reasonable expectation of getting the benefits of that product was IMO inappropriate.

I have to agree that the Club at Seattle is a great alternative. The location may not be as convenient, but it's service more than makes up for that.

Next year should be less if renewed for MVP member.

Just had a thought, I don't think lounge membership can be used for AmEx travel credit directly. Perhaps using GC will work?
No GC required. Purchasing a lounge membership qualifies as a reimbursable expense. Amex says so itself buried in the t&c. No hoops required.

There is a thread in the Amex forum that deals with the reimbursements.

Quick search found this (fairly old) post that reported a problem with getting lounge fees reimbursed. Might be worth esearching/asking there unless anc-ord722 or anyone else here has recent experiences?

This may refer to day passes. I do remember that it was day passes that were not reimbursed. Discussed this with AmEx rep when designating AS as my airline.
Also, with new increased AF, AmEx may now allow a more liberal interpretation as far as "airline incidental" fees.

Good to know...thanks for keeping us all up to date.
This may be a serious option for next year, PP seems like it's days are numbered on AS.

I bought the membership in December. It wasn't an issue and easily handled in the SEA BR.

That makes two. I know ppl love to use it for airfare via GCs, but I think this is a better value. Plus the CSR doesn't discriminate. Much easier for airfare.

Huh? Yes, a bag of chips and a room where I was hunting for a plug for my laptop like I'd hunt for an easter egg was so much fun....

It's a garbage lounge and IMO its only plus side is the fact that it isn't crowded. I wondered there out of curiosity last time I was at SEA and was almost happy to be kicked out at 5:30 pm or whatever their closing time is and headed over to the Amex Lounge, while getting denied entry to the AS lounge along the way.

It'll be disappointing if AS drops out of Priority Pass, but not surprising. They should owe loyalty first to the paying Boardroom members, and who knows the impacts of the impending AS/DL divorce (still bitter... ), In the US Priority Pass is really a way for lounges to make some cash when they don't have active flights, but clearly that doesn't work for airlines that have flights all day, hence why US dropped out after the AA merger.

Sunday, 2pm, no sign out at the D location. So I walked in and asked "Priority Pass?", and the friendly agent replied, "Certainly".

I post this because I went to the second floor and was surprised to see it quite full, perhaps 90%, with just a few open seats

Seems strange that I was admitted with the club so full, but just glad to be in.

No, it talked explicitly about annual membership reimbursement. But it is good to know from posts here that it is no longer an issue. I'll add that information to the Wiki of the Amex form thread.
