They (Alaska) have already confirmed the closing of the PDX lounge to Priority Pass Select on May 1st so either the agent responding was misinformed or they are having a change of heart...I tend to go with misinformed

Confirmed where? I went through the most of this thread and you are the only way that I could find saying that, with no sources given (even saying later you'd ask them about it next time you were in there).

One of the posters (I think in this thread...may be the SEA Lounge concourse C thread) mentioned the May 1st deadline given by PDX lounge staff so I asked later on Twitter and got confirmation.

Fixed that for you!

It has nothing to do with DL wanting to have a premium experience -- it has everything to do with DL wanting to sell SkyClub memberships. If they wanted a premium experience, they could start with opening up the booze selection AND improve the food selection. Making the clubs feel better than doctor's office waiting rooms would help.

I was quite irked to see that paid F from LAX-JFK gets you SkyClub access, but paid F from MIA-ATL-LAX or MIA-MSP-LAX does not. Those routes are more miles and more expensive than LAX-JFK but get less service!?

JFK-LAX/SFO (and LAX-DCA, BOS-SFO) are D1 routes. MIA-MSP-LAX is just regular old first. MIA-JFK-LAX in first/business will get you access to the Skyclub

Miraculously I got in the D gates lounge on Mon. 4/24 around 12:15p and was able to bring in my wife. No sign out but it was just as busy as it usually is other times I get in around that time (sometimes when PP sign is out)... about 80% seats full.

Again... twitter?

I've had mixed results from twitter- AS included.

I understand this was mentioned, but still think the individual responding may not have all the information. May 1st is right around the corner though

And I do agree C opening should help out a bunch. Hope there is room

Fwiw, I have had MUCH better luck with the Twitter reps who seem to work in the evenings (Seattle time). There are two in particular who seem both very knowledgeable and very empowered to get stuff done.

I actually put more stock in the Twitter rep than some generic email response from customer care.

Was at LAX Boardroom at 7:30pm last night (Wednesday night).

Didn't have trouble getting in. Lounge was about 30-40% full.

Just checked with twitter rep and as of May 1 no PP access in PDX. That is definite, but I did not ask about SEA

PDX NOT leaving May 1?

Looks like Priority Pass has updated the info for the PDX location with the following:

Effective 01MAY, due to capacity constraints, the lounge cannot accommodate accompanying guests at this time.

So perhaps they've worked out this in-between compromise with AS? Even so, I have a feeling overcrowding won't be sufficiently alleviated and the sign will still be out.

EDIT: This new language re no guests has been added to SEA and LAX locations as well.
